New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys NFL Betting Odds & Spread
Written December 11, 2008 by Jason Lowry

The game everyone is talking about this week is the NFC East battle that has the division leading and defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants taking on the Dallas Cowboys, who desperately need a win to keep their playoff chances alive. Last week the Giants lost a little bit of their swagger, as the Eagles took home a 20-14 win. Now the Cowboys have to be sick after their 20-13 loss to the Steelers last week, as they had a 13-3 lead going into the 4th quarter. The Giants embarrassed the Cowboys earlier this season, as the wound up winning 35-14 at home. For those of you looking to do some NFL betting on the game this weekend, the oddsmakers have the Cowboys 3 point favorites at home over the Giants at BetUS.com
The Giants 7 game winning streak is down the drain, and even though this team has loss just two games all season, and has the division locked up, they still are in a battle with the Panthers for the No. 1 seed going into the playoffs. The offense showed that it just might miss Plaxico a little more than they thought, as the receiver still in action really struggled to catch the football, and the Eagles did a great job of shutting down the run game of Brandon Jacobs, as he had just 52 yards, and the Giants wound up failing to rush for over a 100 yards in this one. Eli Manning wasn’t much better throwing for just 123 yards and a score, but was really hurt by the passed dropped in this one. With the game in Dallas we expect the Cowboys offense to be rolling, so this unit better bet ready to put some points up.
The Giants defense had no answer for Brian Westbrook, as the star back went off for the second straight week. Westbrook wound up running for 131 yards and a score, and added 6 catches for another 72 yards and another score. This week they face a Cowboys offense that when clicking is one of the best, but if they can get to Romo he will make mistakes just as he did last week against the Steelers. The Cowboys have to be wondering just what it has to do to start winning games in December, as they just keep losing in the month that matters the most. Last week it looked like they had it in the bag, but gave up 10 points to the offense, and then Tony Romo threw his 3rd interception to Deshea Townsend who took it 25 yards to the house for the game winning score. On top of Romo’s 3 picks he added a fumble, as they Cowboys turned it over 5 times in this one. One bright spot for the Cowboys offense last week was the play of rookie running back Tashard Choice who stepped in to gain 166 total yards, including 88 on the ground, and the Cowboys might be looking at starting Choice again this week, as its unclear if Barber will play.
The Cowboys defense really has to feel like the offense let them down in this one, as they had complete control of the game allowing the Steelers just 3 points over three quarters of play as they sacked Roethlisberger 5 times and forced two fumbles in this one. Now the key is stopping the run this week, as last time around they let the trio of Giants running backs run for 200 yards and 2 scores, but on the other hand they also let Manning throw for 3 scores.
