House Edge on Crapless Craps
Written March 5, 2008 by Jack Jones
Casinos are starting to offer a new game to entice players and it’s called Never Ever or Crapless Craps. Sure the name sounds like it would be a great deal for players, but just what is this game and what is the house edge? Casino expert Mark Pilarski dives in and gives us his thoughts.
Never Ever or Crapless Craps something that I have seen before, so I’ll give you the run down and differences from the regular game that you may be familiar with. You do not lose on the 2, 3, or 12 on the come out roll. Instead, if the shooter tosses the 2, 3, 11 or 12, that becomes the point, just as the 4, 5, 6, and 8, 9, 10 would in normal craps. The 7 on the come out is your only instant winner.
So now that you know what you are doing, should you step up to this table? Not at all as we give two thumbs down for our recommendation for Crapless Craps. The house edge on the pass line with these modified rules is a whopping 5.4%, about four times the typical crap game’s 1.4% pass line edge. Stick to the normal game and you’ll end up having a lot more fun and last a lot longer at the table.
