House Edge on Tie Wagers in Baccarat

We received an interesting note from a player this week about how they had been stuck on a losing streak in the casino and were thinking about mini-baccarat. They wanted to know if there were any secrets to the game that would help them win a little money, and this player was especially curious about betting on the tie. This is one bet that we will tell you to avoid at all costs.
The tie bet is the only proposition wager on the table, and it’s a lousy one for the player. Statistically, a tie appears every 10.5 hands, but the casino is willing to pay you only 8:1, which gives the house a 14.4 % edge on a tie wager.
If you really want to make some money at the baccarat table then you will need to stick to Banker or Player wagers. You will not change your losing ways by betting on the high vigorish proposition bets such as the tie when you can take a stab at the other two, which are far less punishing, alternatives at the table
