Iowa at Michigan State College Football Betting Lines

The red hot Spartans host Iowa this Saturday. Since their opening season loss against a good Cal team, Michigan State has won four convincing games in row, including a win against a vastly improved Notre Dame team. Iowa, got off to a nice start, but have lost back to back games against average teams in Pitt and Northwestern. Look for the Spartans to run all over Iowa. The odds makers at BetUS have the Spartans listed as 9-point favorites over the Iowa Hawkeyes.

There is no doubt that this Spartans’ game plan will be to run, run, run with Javon Ringer. And to be honest, why wouldn’t it be? Every team they have faced so far knew they would get a high dosage of Ringer, but no team has had an answer for him. In five games, Ringer has rushed for 897 yards and 12 touches. That is an average of 179.4 yards and over two scores per game. Look for it to be a long day for the Iowa rush defense.

Iowa has only scored 16 touchdowns in their five games, so they are anything but a high powered offense. The Spartans are only giving up 16.8 points per game, and with Ringer running all day long look that to run down a lot of clock and not leave a lot of opportunities for Iowa to score.
