Jack’s Free NCAA Basketball Picks: 3/20

Written March 20, 2009 by Jack Jones

Not the start we were hoping for yesterday as both the early games went down and we never really recovered.  BEST BET came through on Washington, we hit the free premium pick I gave away on North Carolina, and then commentators won with the comp premium pick on Michigan.  Not much else went right though and it’s time for revenge Friday.

I might add a few more plays later, but for now I have four premium picks going for every one.  The late night bailout play is on Robert Morris/Michigan State, there is an early total on Marquette/Utah State, plus there is North Dakota State/Kansas, and the BEST BET on Temple/Arizona State.

Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

The run to March Madness is on at SPORTSBETTING.COM.  They have great bonuses for new customers, plus re-load bonuses for subsequent deposits.  Head to SPORTSBETTING.COM today, signup for a new account, and enter their huge March Madness contest!

Make sure you check out the March Madness Contest with Trev Rogers by heading to the service plays forum to see who is taking who. Also, for those of you interested in joining the play of the day contest, the lines are up and a few people have already locked in their picks there as well.

Free Picks for Friday

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!
Cornell +13 over Missouri at Sportsbook.com (Reduced Juice Friday)

This pick might scare some of you because Missouri has the potential to blow people out the way they score points, but Cornell is 12-3 ATS against teams that put up more than 77 ppg on average and they are 38-21 ATS as double digit underdogs.  Cornell is a smart, efficient team with experienced players that should be able to keep this one close enough to cover the large spread.

Free Pick Records:

CBB: 50-33
NBA: 21-25
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1

I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer.

Not Cornell no way the Mizzou does not cover 13 this will be another 25 point contest win over an inferior Ivy league team. Disagree with pick

I was with you yesterday with NC, however I may have to lay off this game as I think that Missouri will be able to cover. I think Cornell will keep it close in the first half (maybe even have the lead) But Missouri will come out on top & cover. (Missouri 87, Cornell 68)

I love mizou tonight there defense is going to be to tough to handle. They will blow them out in easy fashion 72 to 51

I am not with you on this one. Cornell will stay close in the first half but Mizzou will bury them in the end.

think you may have over analized this game. Mizzou has a lot of confidence after winning big 12 championship. They will cover this spread.

Sorry Jack I am way more comfortable betting that mizzou does what I know they can, then taking cornell and hoping for something borderline miraculous. Good luck to you anyway I hope Friday is good for us all.

Yes, your right to take Cornell is like making a donation, if Mizzou struggles in the beginning I believe they will make the proper adjuments at the break and cover the spread.12-3 is impressive, but who is that against anyone in the top 15?

I’m not sure if Cornell can keep up with Missouri. I’m guessing that if Cornell covers, it will be close to the thirteen. I know that the unexpected often happens in the Tournament though. This could become one of those surprise games where the big underdog plays it close. I have also seen you make several good free picks in college basketball. Yesterdays pick was yet another example. I think it’s best to agree with you here.

Jack, I didn’t have time to get in the Cornell free pick but thanks anyway. How many of you players out there read Jacks reason for the 15* pick on Michigan yesterday? I did and switched over from the Clemson side.It played out just like Jack stated. Clemson’s
zone offense just couldn’t get rolling. They found out quick that this wasn’t the ACC and man coverage. I think they ended up shooting less then 32%. I think they only hit 4 or 5 out of 22 from 3 point range. Michigan’s 1-3-1 defense was to much for the Tigers! I don’t even read a pick unless it explains why it’s worthy. Hey jack, hit about 6 in a row for me. thanks and good luck
