Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 1/21
Written January 21, 2009 by Jack Jones
I have to say I am extremely disappointed in my last two 25* plays. For last night’s NBA game of the month the Pacers looked flat in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. They couldn’t seem to find the basket against the Spurs’ defense. Tonight I’m looking for a bit of redemption with 6 plays on the premium side. Don’t worry, I won’t force plays just to try to make up for a bad night, these are all games that I really like. The biggest play of the night comes as my 20* NBA Hardwood Hammer! I’m playing three NBA plays, two college basketball games and one NHL game (I did my hockey pick on Edmonton last night, bring me to over 350 units for the year on the ice). All plays are 15* other than the 20* Hammer, and you can pick them up individually or get them all with an all-inclusive daily package ($34.95). Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

Remember that these are the weakest plays I’ve picked out, and will not be playing them personally. The best bets on the board will always be available only to premium subscribers. Wisconsin Badgers -3 over Iowa Hawkeyes at BetUS
Great value on the Wisconsin Badgers on the road tonight. They play at Iowa, who is 9-1 on the season at home, but the Hawkeyes are just 3-2 against the spread at home this season and just 1-4 straight up and ATS in conference games this season. Iowa has lost 3 straight in the Big 10 and 4 straight in the conference against spread. The Badgers have managed a 7-2 ATS record in their last 9 road games, and they are 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 games against Big 10 opponents. Wisconsin has won 4 straight and 9 of the last 10 in the series. Giving just 3 points to a Hawkeye team that has been plagued with turnovers and poor rebounding is a gift. Take the Badgers over the Hawks tonight.
Golden State Warriors -6.5 over Oklahoma City Thunder at Bookmaker
Golden State has struggled on defense this year giving up 112 points per game. What they’ve lacked in defense however, they’ve made up for with their offense, which posts 107 points per game. The Warriors should have no problem scoring at home tonight against an Oklahoma City team that already allows 102.3 points per game. OKC’s offense is the real difference in this match up however, as they’ve put up just 95.3 points per game. The Thunder just 4-11 against the spread in the last 15 meetings between these two teams and I simply can’t see them keeping up with the Golden State offensive pace.
