I’m ready for a big Saturday and we will get things started off with our 25* College Bowl Game of the Year going early. Sign up either at the Jack Jones home page or check out the rest of the college football picks available from our handicappers.

In the NFL I’ pretty excited about the first game, so much so that I’ve dubbed it my 25* NFL Wild Card Game of the Year. This is the largest bet I’m making this weekend out of the four contests. Sign up on my homepage or else check out the rest of the NFL picks offered by our handicappers.

I’m also playing a pair of NBA games, five in college basketball with a 20* Dark Horse Dandy that I feel wins the game outright and the Pitt/Georgetown winner. For those of you who like to bet hockey I have my 20* NHL Steam Roller going tonight.

Free Picks for Saturday

Remember that these are the weakest plays I’ve picked out, and will not be playing them personally. The best bets on the board will always be available only to premium subscribers.

Chargers +2

I don’t think people are giving this San Diego team enough credit for their great run coming into the playoffs as they looked out of it at 4-8. There isn’t a team that has more momentum after winning four straight do-or-die games and watching the Broncos collapse down the stretch to gift them in here. I think that these two teams have a very similar level of talent, and it’s very tough for an NFL team to beat the same team twice in one season, especially when they are fairly equal. This time around San Diego is a playing a lot better football as well, and with how the Chargers have had Peyton Manning’s number over the last few years (beating them three of the four times they have faced since 2005) I think they can easily win this game today. The Chargers have gone 11-4 ATS over their last 15 home games. Now the reason this is a free pick and not a premium one is that the Colts are playing pretty well too, and with Philip Rivers being sort of a basket case a few bad breaks seem to take this guy out of a game. I like San Diego, but not enough to make it a premium play but more of a slight lean for those of you who like action.

Predicted Score: Chargers 28, Colts 24

Michigan State -3.5

The Spartans have won six straight games to move to 10-2 on the season and are coming off an impressive win in their Big Ten opener against Minnesota. This Michigan State team also has a quality win over Texas, with their two losses coming against Maryland and North Carolina. They are averaging 78.8 points per game while allowing only 67.2. Raymar Morgan is leading the way with 14.8 points on 62.3% shooting while also grabbing 6.3 boards. Kalin Lucas is coming off a 24 point game against Minnesota ans has 73 assists this year to only 13 turnovers. The Spartans have balance and can play at a high level on both ends of the floor, which should help them pick up the road win at Northwestern today.

Predicted Score: Michigan State 68, Northwestern 60
