Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 2/24

My 15* NBA total yesterday on the Boston/Denver Under hit nicely on the premium side and I got back on the winning track with my free pick on the OVER in the Knicks/Pacers game as well. Thanks to everyone that followed and commented on the free pick. Let’s keep it going today.

Charlotte Bobcats +7 over Phoenix Suns at BetUS
The Bobcats don’t make it easy to take them on the road against the Suns, after all, Charlotte is only 6-19 as the visitor this season. What I do like is that the Bobcats have mustered a 15-10 ATS record on the road, meaning they are certainly underestimated as the visiting team. The Suns are coming off of an emotional loss to the Celtics and while the Bobcats have lost 2 straight, they’ll be motivated to right the ship tonight in their second game of a 5 game road trip. Charlotte beat the Suns the last time the two met, 98-76 and while that was in Charlotte, this team at least knows they can beat the Suns and should keep it closer than you initially might think.

Jack, I am not sure I like this pick the Suns are going to have revenge in mind tonight after losing by 20+ to the Bobcats earlier this year. I was actually all over the Suns tonight, but maybe I just fade the pick all together.

I agree with you picking the Bobcats. The Suns are just not the same after losing Stoudemire to injury. Plus, the Bobcats are playing well with a 5-2 record ATS in their last 7. The Bobcats will at least keep this one close.

I like this pick tonight. The Suns are still reeling and trying to find their identity after the loss of Stoudemire. Overall, Charlotte has played a lot better lately. Take the points in a close game in Phoenix.

I am not sure about the pick tonight. Suns are going to have revenge on their mind and the bobcats aren’t as strong.

There is one stand-out bet, which is just short of qualifying as a ‘proper’ bet of mine but nonetheless deserves serious consideration as a play, and that is LSU -3.5 at home to Florida.
One wonders whether this is a ‘trap’ number – a candidate for contrarianism but at the end of the day I can’t find any support for the notion that Florida are a better team than LSU (except for spurious ‘form’ arguments) so they must have a great chance of winning by a-basket-plus-a-bit on home court.

I love the free pick today! I think people are riding the suns too much after they blew out the clippers twice and then oklahoma. Look what happened Sunday when they played a solid team. I definitely belive that the Bobcats will cover and may even win the game outright!

After having a good two weeks with your bets, I thought I could do even better, boy was I wrong. Had a horrible week and now I’m going with the best again. If you say Bobcats, I’m with you, and I’m hoping for a better week.

JJ you are right Char. makes it hard to back them now and the last game in Char.that they won I was informed from a source that Phx. would not show up for that game because they wanted Porter out so Char. would win and win easily. This time around Phx. has something to play for and it is hard to back them but I will take a shot with it because you think it is worth a try. Good Luck

Seven points is a lot to give up for a phoenix suns team playing without amare stoudemire. I believe phoenix should still win this game but look for the bobcats to keep it close. Good call…

I don’t like this pick. I think the Suns take this one in a walk. The reigns have come off and the Suns are running and gunning. I don’t think the bobcats have the defense to completely slow down the suns.
