Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 3/12

Written March 12, 2009 by Jack Jones

jacks-free-picks-akron-031209I think that the second half of last night’s Texas A&M game pretty much sums up what the past week and a half has been like.  I’ll keep putting out what I feel are the strongest plays of the day, and you can keep fading them until we’re back on the winning side of things, which I know will be sooner than later.

Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

Make sure you check out the March Madness Contest with Trev Rogers by heading to the service plays forum to see who is taking who. Also, for those of you interested in joining the play of the day contest, the lines are up and a few people have already locked in their picks there as well.

Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Tell me why you agree or disagree with today’s free pick and get one of tonight’s CBB 20* play! I send the free premium picks out in one batch today around 5 PM EST, so if you post after they’ve been sent you’ll get tomorrow’s play.

Free Pick for Thursday

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!

Akron Zips +1.5 at BetUS
I like Akron tonight coming off of an emotional win over Toledo while Miami Ohio enters the conference tournament by ending their regular season with a loss at Buffalo.  The teams split their regular season series 1-1, but Akron has the upper hand having won the most recent meeting by a score of 53-44.  For Akron to win this game they must dictate the pace of the pace of the game on offense, where I feel they have a significant advantage.  Thursday night I’m taking the Zips to move to the next round in the MAC Tournament.

Free Pick Records:

CBB: 45-32
NBA: 20-23
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1

I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer.

A&M was painful last night. By halftime I already had my winnings budgeted in! Akron sounds good, I’m going with it.

JJ tough one last night but we all should have known something was up when B.(loser-FADE) Lang had A&M as his 25 Dime play when I saw that I started to go back and play Texas Tech on the ML but I rode with the loss. Akron looks good and should get you back on the right side of things.Good Luck.

I hate losing like everyone else, but watching Singletary go into the zone and become Kobe, and single handedly beat a team into submission was priceless. It sure beats losing because some knuckle head fouls when there down by ten with 10 seconds to go and the two free throws kill your spread or under. Jack it is time to go Singletary on the books. Go Zips!!
