Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 3/15

Written March 15, 2009 by Jack Jones

jack-free-pick-031609Yesterday we didn’t hit the free pick, but got things back on track with the premium plays with a 3-0 day.  I hit the Utah Utes for my 20* and added a winning plays on Louisville (15*) and the Nuggets (15*).  There’s still plenty of work to be done, but it feels great to get a winning night under my belt.  Tonight just two plays on the premium side including a 20* in the NBA and a 15* on the SEC Title game.

Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

The run to March Madness is on at SPORTSBETTING.COM.  They have great bonuses for new customers, plus re-load bonuses for subsequent deposits.  Head to SPORTSBETTING.COM today, signup for a new account, and enter their huge March Madness contest!

Make sure you check out the March Madness Contest with Trev Rogers by heading to the service plays forum to see who is taking who. Also, for those of you interested in joining the play of the day contest, the lines are up and a few people have already locked in their picks there as well.

Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Because today’s games all start early, no free pick will be given out today, but I would still love to hear your comments.  Let me know what you think about today’s free pick and I will get back to you tomorrow with a free premium pick.

Free Pick for Sunday

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!

Memphis Grizzlies +9 at BetUS
I won’t deny the Grizzlies have been awful this season, especially on the road, but against increasingly inflated point spreads they have been covering well in the second half of the season.  For example, they’ve lost 12 of their last 13 games overall, but are 9-4 against the spread in those 13 games.  Meanwhile Detroit is just 10-23 ATS at home this season.  While the Pistons should win the game outright, the Grizzlies keep it within the 9 point spread.

Free Pick Records:

CBB: 47-32
NBA: 20-24
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1

I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer.

Depends on if Wallace plays or not. They won by 8 last time in Memphis and that was with Iverson. Pistons have become a better playing team without Iverson. At home they win by at least 9 with Wallace playing.

I have to agree they are a crappy team but somehow find a way to cover against the better teams for some reason just ask the celtic’s the other day.

Detroit just played 2 OT games in a row and with 2 tough games coming up on the highway, they may show little effort
in this sport vs a team with such a poor record.

Nice job yesterday Captain! Im going to stay away from this one. Memphis is awful but Minnesota showed us that really bad teams can still do same damage. I would lean that way if I had to play it but I like a few other games more.

Some teams/players (KOBE) seem to be line conscious, especially on Sundays. One thing that seems certain is the fact, that if the Pistons are conscious of the line, they are evil. They’ll tease you with a win/cover then let you down more than any other home team out there (10-23 ATS at home). Backing those clowns at home will drain your pocket faster than a leaking toilet. Memphis is just the team to jump on since the Pistons, now confident again, will not take them seriously. Memphis it is.

Well you got to hit one from time to time! Your ” Free Pick” record speaks for itself. I think your all crooks and anyone who puts thier money on your picks will be working overtime to pay the bills!!

Lennie, no one is forcing you to bet. Why don’t you keep your opinions to yourself? We’re all adults here and hopefully everyone has their betting under control. Getting Jack’s advice is a lot better than you trying to just flip a coin and guess.

Lenny you are a douschebag. Shut ur mouth and read the free pick disclaimer. Your an idiot and you might not be able to read so I’m gonna help. Jack says that he doesn’t bet on his free picks as they are his weakest plays and not get to aggressive when playing them.
