Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 3/24

Written March 24, 2009 by Jack Jones

bulls-pistons3-2 day yesterday with a tough loss on Vermont in OT and a close loss with our BEST BET on the Magic.   There aren’t many games going for Tuesday but I have three of them that I really like, including a 20* NBA No Doubt Rout, a 15* NBA winner, and a 15* going in NIT action.  Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

The run to March Madness is on at SPORTSBETTING.COM.  They have great bonuses for new customers, plus re-load bonuses for subsequent deposits.  Head to SPORTSBETTING.COM today, signup for a new account, and enter their huge March Madness contest!

Make sure you check out the March Madness Contest with Trev Rogers by heading to the service plays forum to see who is taking who. Also, for those of you interested in joining the play of the day contest, the lines are up and a few people have already locked in their picks there as well.

Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Tell me why you agree or disagree with today’s free pick and get tonight’s NBA 20* play! I send the free premium picks out in one batch today around 5 PM EST, so if you post after they’ve been sent you’ll get tomorrow’s play.

Free Picks for Tuesday

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!

Chicago Bulls -5.5 over Detroit Pistons at BetUS

The Bulls are coming off a close win last night in Washington but they are 4-0 ATS in their last four games playing back-to-back, plus Chicago is 7-1 ATS in their last eight games at home.  The Pistons are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games against the Eastern Conference and 8-20 ATS when their opponents put up more than 100 in their last game.  The Bulls have been a different team at home, going 21-12 while Detroit is 16-17 on the road.  The Bulls have beaten Detroit three straight times in Chicago and they should make it four after tonight.

Free Pick Records:

CBB: 50-35
NBA: 21-26
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1

I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer.

I stayed away yesterday on the Celtics laying a big number at home. However, today I’m on this one with you. I think the Bulls roll the Pistons in this spot with or without Hamilton. Let’s cash it!

I’m a little worried everyone agrees, but I also like the Bulls in a must win home game over a injured Pistons team.

Bulls tend to be a 24 minute team. If they play great in the first half, they tend to play worse in the second half. Or, like last night, they come out shooting horribly in the first half, then wake up in the second half. Predicting how they’ll do for 48 minutes is almost impossible, imo. So my strategy remains as such…….watch the first half. If they come out slow and are down at the half, bet them in the second half. If they come out strong in the first half, fade them in the second half…..it often works like a charm. Tonight’s prediction. They come out very strong in the first half.

Bet them first half at (-3)……then fade them in the second half if they are up by more than ten points.

Don’t know about this one–I think the Bulls win but I expect a tight game. I like the Bulls on the money line parlayed to the under.

Yes the Bulls are playing much better and have been doing very well ATS,but since Det.got rid of the so called ANSWER,A.I. they have done much better also. This could come down to a last shot kind of thing here imo.GL tonight

disagree completely with you on this one, piston’s should win this game straight up tonight with playoff’s around the corner the pistons will come out strong and try and prove they still have it…I’m taking the pistons tonight and maybe even the moneyline

Hesitantly, I’m also going against the trend – I like Detroit to keep this close and possibly win outright.

I really am unsure about this one. So I am going to pass on the spread. I will roll with the under and watch these two teams all out assault on the front, back and side of the rim. Good luck to everyone.

I’m not to crazy about this…. the bulls are solid at home and the contrary detroit is mediocre at best on the road. I think chicago will win but 5.5 is quite a big number to lay down. I will probably take the moneyline on this one

i like chicago especially only if rasheed wallace is still out, and u know iverson isnt playing to.at this time the pistons are good but there in limbo missing a few key players..Also the bulls have been playing good at home and covering there spreads..i see chicago covering easily..

but i think the bet of the day is utah -5.1/2…utah is an amasing strong team , and almost untouchable at home. i see them wining by 7 or 8 against houston.final score maybe 94-87. so that means i like the under 194. good luck everyone..

Chicago Bulls are fighting for the playoff spot and now they receive the Detroit pistons with their worst nba season so far. Chicago at home is the right call

Detroit is a fraction of the team they were a few years ago. I think the Bulls smell blood and will over take the Pistons for 7th in the East.

but tonight I am with you again Jack, Let’s go with Chicago.

The bulls have a chance because they’re a good home team and the pistons have not been winning. However, I think the Pistons have kept the score close in their last few games. I would buy a few points here.
