Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 3/27

Written March 27, 2009 by Jack Jones

spurs-dancer2-0 Thursday night puts a nice stack of cash in our bankroll.  Let’s keep up the momentum on Friday night as we hit the board with a 20* CBB No-Brainer going on Kansas/Michigan State along with a 15* on Gonzaga/North Carolina.  In the NBA we also have a pair of 15* plays with a few more potential games being looked at with the possibility of being upgraded.  Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

The run to March Madness is on at SPORTSBETTING.COM.  They have great bonuses for new customers, plus re-load bonuses for subsequent deposits.  Head to SPORTSBETTING.COM today, signup for a new account, and enter their huge March Madness contest!

Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Tell me why you agree or disagree with today’s free pick and get tonight’s CBB 20* play! I send the free premium picks out in one batch today around 5 PM EST, so if you post after they’ve been sent you’ll get tomorrow’s play.

Free Picks for Friday

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!

San Antonio Spurs -11 over the LA Clippers at Sportsbook.com (Reduced Juice on Fridays)

It’s pretty easy to lay the points when you have a team sitting at 25-11 on their home floor going against an opponent that is just 8-28 away from home this year. The Spurs may be only 2-2 in their last four games, but last time out scored a big 10 point win in Atlanta, and their two losses came in close games to Boston and Houston. The Clippers on the other hand have lost five of the six road games they have played the last two weeks, with their one win being in overtime at New York. I really don’t see a category that the Spurs don’t have an advantage here as they win big tonight.

Free Pick Records:

CBB: 50-36
NBA: 22-27
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1

I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer.

I like this pick. Brutal road schedule for the Clippers. They have played there last 5 games on the road. They are 1 and 4 with there only win against the lame ass Knicks. San Antonio wins by 18.

LAC have nothing to play for but more ping pong balls and San Antonio would like to be the #2 seed in the West gaining home court advantage over for the first 2 series in the playoffs. 11 points is a lot to lay up, but I would have to go with the Spurs minus the points.

I had Clippers Over (216) in their last game at the Garden. There are only a few teams that the Clippers can beat, let alone cover against; teams that don’t play defense. San Antonio is the antithesis of those teams. Given the importance of every game from here on out, don’t expect the Spurs to play the Clippers lightly. Clippers are 5-10 ATS as a road dog of 10 points or more. However San Antonio has never been a great team as a home favorite of 10 points or more (5-4 ATS).

Clippers, as bad as they are, may come to play tonight with the few fumes of pride they have left in the tank. Caveman and Randolph will give some problems to an ailing Duncan. Parker will have to continue his outstanding play tonight to get the cover in my opinion. Win they will, but I fear the Spurs will leave the backdoor open just enough for the Clippers to squeeze through tonight.

I’ll pass on this one, but Good Luck. No team deserves more to advance in the standings than the Spurs.

Problem with these kind of spreads, the team giving the points dont care if they win by 12,esp.the Spurs and I can see them going to the 4th up 20 and then coasting to the finish.End up winning by 10 or something because the bench is in.
Cant believe Xavier held on for us only scoring 18 points in the second half, but nice win there,GL tonight

The Clippers usually stink, but it’s hard to know for sure what will happen here. The Spurs still don’t have Ginobili, and they often don’t blow teams out when they win. If the Clippers can put forth the effort they’re capable of, they can be a good pick with all these points. I’m going to guess that the Spurs don’t cover 11. It’s just a lean.

id have to agree with this..san antonio is one of the hardest places to win at..the clippers season is done…which usually means one foot is on the court..and the other on the plane to cancun for the summer…spurs also have manu back which should make for an easy roll
