Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 3/3
Written March 3, 2009 by Jack Jones
A nice 2-0 day on the premium side yesterday with the Citadel winning in a blowout! We also picked up a 15* on the Hornets and the free one on Atlanta gifted you guys a little cash as well.
Let’s keep up the winning ways on Tuesday with FIVE premium plays, TWO going in college basketball and a 3-for-1 in the NBA. Our 20* Revenge Rout in college basketball is the highlight of the card as we have gone 21-10 with our last 31 basketball BEST BETS and 9-3 on our last 12 college basketball BEST BETS. Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.
Make sure you check out the March Madness Contest with Trev Rogers by heading to the service plays forum to see who is taking who. Also, for those of you interested in joining the play of the day contest, the lines are up and a few people have already locked in their picks there as well.
Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Tell me why you agree or disagree with today’s free pick and get tonight’s Memphis/Lakers 15*! I’m going back to giving out the BEST BETS for now, because when I was doing that we were all cashing in. I send the free premium picks out in one batch today around 5 PM EST, so if you post after they’ve been sent you’ll get tomorrow’s play.
Free Pick for Tuesday
So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!
Weber State -3.5 over Montana State at BetUS
I’ll go with Weber State tonight who brings in a 8-4 record on the road and a 20-8 mark overall. Montana State is just 12-15 on the year and 6-9 in the conference, compared to Weber’s 14-1 mark in Big Sky play. I know the Wildcats aren’t playing for anything, having already locked up the regular season title, but no team wants to head into the conference tournament on a losing note. This team is coming off 11 straight wins and 14 out of thier last 15, including a 38 point stomping of Sacramento State last time out. The Bobcats on the other hand are coming off a 27 point loss to Northern Colorado. Weber State lost to Montana State back in the middle of January, so don’t you think this team is going to be out for revenge tonight?
Free Pick Records:
CBB: 42-28
NBA: 18-20
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1
I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer.

Like the pick a lot. Montana state beat Weber st earlier but Weber is clearly the better team and will be out for revenge. Nice job yesterday Captain!
Reply
we’ll see.
seems like you are on a roll lately, and considering i am not…i’ll follow ya.
Reply
i like this pick a lot also, weber st wont be happy about montana state beating them earlier, they’ll come out quick and hot and take this one and cover the spread no problem.
Reply
Good pick – Weber St is the only tourney team in that group
Reply
good pick lets keep this up!

I agree with the pick here for a couple reasons. One, the obvious motive being revenge, since Mont St gave them their only conference loss. But also, Weber St does not want to have a let down going into the conference tournament and risk losing an NCAA tournament bid.

Exactly what I’m thinking. Even with “nothing” to play for, no team wants to end the regular season on a loss.

I like your your free pick and congrats on a perfect day yesterday.
As already mentioned on here.
Revenge game for Weber and Weber is the far superior team here.
Reply
good pick jack, even without the revenge facter.the Weber
St.team will cover easily.Great picks yesterday.

After Citadel…I’m on this for sure
Reply
I like this pick Weber st. is the better team and they will be out for revenge after losing earlier in the year.
Reply
I think it’s a good pick as well though I am a little concerned about the earlier loss.
Reply
I don’t know a lot about these teams, but I like this pick and will definitely be playing it tonight. Weber certainly seems to be the better team and I think revenge will play a factor in them covering the spread tonight.
Reply
I totally agree with this game…no one wants to go into next week with a loss…Weber St is also in revenge after last loss…Good pick
Reply
No doubt about it they cover with ease they won’t forget who gave them their 1 loss weber in a rout
Reply
I guess we will try it

I am not sure about this pick Jack. Weber State is by far the superior team here, however Weber State has wrapped up their conference and I think will rest their top player for the Conference Tournament as this is the final game of the regular season. Montana will be having its senior night and I think will play their best game. I think I’ll fade this game.

I’m not big on the senior night factor for teams, but I can understand why people are leery about taking favorites on the road when the home team wants to make a solid last impression on the fans.

I have 0 idea about this game but I guess I will listen to you and put down a little. Go weber state

don’t know much about these 2 teams.

Luv Webber St and playing it as well glad to see u on it too…GL tonight

Jack, sure glad Trev came up short on Baylor last night. I switched over when you went with the horns and Abrams started. Lost out on the Citadel – came in to late but thanks anyway. I’m going with you on Weber state tonight. I don’t have an opinion but have seen your picks first hand the last few weeks and i’m not about to jump off the boat now!

Thanks Ric. Hopefully we can keep feeding you winners to make up for you missing Citadel last night.

I have to agree with you again today, concerning Weber St. The fact that their lone loss in conference play came at the hands of Montana St. on January 15th should be enough reason for Weber St. players to at least ‘want’ the win. Considering that Weber St. has won 4 out of the last 5 games played between these two teams including a two point win in January of 2008 at Montana St. suggests that at worst, it will be a close game. If I had a gun to my head I’d take the better team with revenge, but given the game means little to them apart from another notch on the belt, I’ll sit this one out.

I’m kicking myself for not listenting to you about Atl. Good on ya sir! I will go with you on this one for sure!

Weber should cover with easy…

I like the pick. I think Weber st is going to roll. Thanks for the citadel pick yesterday. Cashed in big on it.
Reply
thanks for the winners yesterday. Let’s keep it going. like the weber pick.
Reply
Ill agree again with you today Jack. Nice picks yesterday by the way sir. Weber St. will be up for this game; theres a revenge factor, and its on the road so theres a bit of a challenge there so I think the coach will definitely have them focused and ready to destroy Montana St. Weber St. by 14

ok ill take it and the cheerleader is hot to

Now we’re rollin’! Like the pick, and would really like to see Weber St. do what Citadel did last night!

Normally I like these kind of games (top team in a conference on the road only giving up a few points against a middle of the pack team) but montana state gave weber state their only conference loss and it was at weber st. Also neither team looked to have played extremely good/bad. And seeing that this is montana state’s last home game, I think it will be a tough one for Weber st to pull off.

I like this pick I think even taking a little off should still win by 7.
