Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 3/6

Written March 6, 2009 by Jack Jones

suns-girlsAn ugly copy and paste job by me yesterday had plenty of you confused, hopefully that meant you avoided the freebie loser on Portland.  Best Bets continued their hot hand yesterday as Idaho cashed for us.  That’s now 24-10 on our last 34 with basketball BEST BETS and I hope to continue the run tonight.

There are five premium plays going on the card tonight, one college basketball 15*, three NBA 15*, and a 20* NBA No-Brainer.  Been cold in the NBA here lately, but put a little extra work into tonight’s card to ensure we turn a profit.  I feel good about it, but would understand if you tread with caution.  20* NBA plays are still 16-9 on our last 25.  Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

Make sure you check out the  March Madness Contest with Trev Rogers by heading to the service plays forum to see who is taking who. Also, for those of you interested in joining the play of the day contest, the lines are up and a few people have already locked in their picks there as well.

Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Tell me why you agree or disagree with today’s free pick and get tonight’s NBA 15* on the Hawks/Bobcats!  I send the free premium picks out in one batch today around 5 PM EST, so if you post after they’ve been sent you’ll get tomorrow’s play.

Free Picks for Friday

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS.  I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer.  Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!

Phoenix Suns +5.5 over Houston at Sportsbook.com (Where you lay -105 on Fridays)

The Suns really need to get things back on track tonight against Houston.  Having dropped two in a row, Phoenix now finds themselves 2.5 games out of 8th spot out West.  Steve Nash and company now the time is now, and I look for him to have a big game over a Rocket squad that allowed Deron Williams to torch them for 26 points and 14 assists the other night.  The Rockets are short-handed without Tracey McGrady and will now be playing their 5th game in 7 nights.  I look for Phoenix to take advantage of that with their running and gunning style that has returned since the All-Star break.

Free Pick Records:

CBB: 43-28
NBA: 19-22
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1

I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer.

JJ I seem to think the same way that Phx. will run Houston out of gas with the style that they play now so should be able to keep it within the # easy. Good Luck

Without Stoudamire I dont even see the Suns making the playoffs, and if Miami can beat them by 6 so can Houston. There is a reason that the Suns are getting so many points, they just are not that good,GL today Jack.

I have to agree with the Phoenix plus the points. Houston is a dismal 1-8 against the spread at home against Phoenix in there last 9.

Suns are in desperate need of a victory after losing last two on the road. I look for the suns to beat the rockets outright. Shaq always comes out strong against Yao. Good call…

Phoenix is a good punt but Houston can be a force at home. I would say a punters’ pick.

I see the Suns regularly and they don’t, or should I say can’t play any D. Houston is a disciplined team that plays D. I don’t see them having trouble with the Suns.
