Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 4/4

Written April 4, 2009 by Jack Jones

North Carolina v. VillanovaTough break last night as we drop our 20* on the Pacers by a point.  Thought we had it coming down the stretch but Indiana couldn’t hang on.  Time to get some back tonight, even though I only have two plays and neither one of them is a 20* BEST BET.  I have an early NBA game on the Pistons/Sixers and the Michigan State/UConn game.  Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.

The run to March Madness is on at SPORTSBETTING.COM.  They have great bonuses for new customers, plus re-load bonuses for subsequent deposits.  Head to SPORTSBETTING.COM today, signup for a new account, and enter their huge March Madness contest!

Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Tell me why you agree or disagree with today’s free pick and get tonight’s CBB 15* play! I send the free premium picks out in one batch today around 5 PM EST, so if you post after they’ve been sent you’ll get tomorrow’s play.

Free Picks for Saturday

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!

North Carolina -7 over Villanova at BetUS

I don’t think that Villanova has any way to matchup with Tyler Hansbrough down low and that should mean a big win for North Carolina tonight.  Ty Lawson is also incredible, but he’s only slightly better than Scottie Reynolds so the key matchup here comes in the front court.  The Tar Heels have won their four tournament games by an average of 28 points and destroyed the Sooners in the Elite 8.  The Wildcats are also not going to be able to run up and down the floor with the Tar Heels and I think Carolina sets the pace here like they have done nearly all season.  I’ll lay the points here as this Tar Heels team has the experience and I can’t see them being denied a national title game appearance.

Free Pick Records:

CBB: 50-36
NBA: 25-32
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1

I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer and stop by every day for more free NBA picks from top handicappers.

Hansbrough……another overrated “pale” player whose coach also pales in comparison to the “Wright” coach for NOVA….NOVA wins outright. Calling the upset.

Horrible pick jack… Take Villanova +7… In fact i believe villanova may win this game outright… Villanova has the right mix of talent and experience… team is loaded with three year veterans… this villanova team reminds me a lot of the BC team that beat North Carolina earlier this year…except Villanova is better and faster than BC…

I like UNC here to roll over nova. Dont think Nova has the size to match up. Plus after seeing the beating UNC put on Oklahoma last game, I dont think there is any stopping them!

I think Cinderella is going to have a rough night in Detroit.
I just don’t see Nova keeping it close. North Carolina was embarrassed last year in the final four by Kansas and the team returned to win the title. I think Nova is solid but in the end UNC will outplay them and slowly grind them down to win by double digits. If Nova hits the three ball consistently all game they can keep it close, but betting on a team that is going to have to rely on the three ball is suicide.
