Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 4/5
Written April 5, 2009 by Jack Jones
Solid day yesterday with the 2-0 performance on the premium side and the free pick winner on North Carolina. Let’s keep the ball rolling today with a 3-for-1 package of NBA 15* plays. I’m going to pass on opening night baseball and will probably be playing MLB pretty light the first few weeks of the season. If you are looking for a baseball guy, John Martin was the top guy around last summer and he’s got some action for tonight. Another handicapper I feel I should give you guys a heads up about is Jimmy Boyd. If you had been betting $100 on each game he’s put out since January 1st, regardless of units, you would be up almost $6,000!   Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the NCAA basketball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.
The run to March Madness is on at SPORTSBETTING.COM. They have great bonuses for new customers, plus re-load bonuses for subsequent deposits. Head to SPORTSBETTING.COM today, signup for a new account, and enter their huge March Madness contest!
Free Premium Picks: Comment on my free pick article for today over at Betfirms.com. Tell me why you agree or disagree with today’s free pick and get tonight’s NBA 15* play! I send the free premium picks out in one batch today around 5 PM EST, so if you post after they’ve been sent you’ll get tomorrow’s play.
Free Picks for Sunday
So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer. Where do I find these lines? Check out our NBA odds and college basketball lines pages to see which sportsbook has the best number!
Denver Nuggets -7.5 over Minnesota Timberwolves at BetUS
Denver is playing some of their best basketball of the season and could earn home court advantage in the playoffs for the first time in 21 years. It doesn’t hurt that they have beaten Minnesota eight straight times either, added to the fact that Denver has won six games in a row themselves. By winning 11 of their last 12 games the Nuggets are now a second seed out West, which would greatly improve their chances of making it deep into the playoffs. I know Minnesota just beat Utah in Salt Lake, which is a major accomplishment, but this team has gone just 3-14 in their last 17 at home, so I don’t think a major turnaround happened overnight. Nuggets win this game big.
Free Pick Records:
CBB: 51-36
NBA: 25-32
NHL: 4-0 (+665)
CFB: 3-1
NFL: 4-1
I also post my free picks on Twitter so if you follow me there it may be easier to get the picks if you are away from your computer and stop by every day for more free NBA picks from top handicappers.

Bruce,
I’m curious about your statement since I see it quite a bit. What kind of pick would you expect as a free pick and what kinds of picks would you not? I put the “just missed the board” kind of games out usually.

As a coloradan and huge nugget fan, we are truly excited about this team. In years past I feel that this would be a perfect situation for a let down. This team is different, and playing lights out. They are also doing alot of little things that they have failed to do in the past. I think this is an excellent pick, and a dangerous team. The t-wolves will have to play perfect to keep it in the low double digits.

I agree, how great was getting rid of Iverson and picking up Billups. Incredible move.

I think the Rocks are catching the wolves at the right time, they just had a big win over Utah and the nuggets need to keep winning to win the division. Nug-7 1/2

Just got home and saw where Denver handled the T-Wolves tonight. Wish I had seen you had them picked also and I would have bet 10* instead of the 5* I bet.
REASON:
Plain out and simple Minnesota had too many players in street clothes to compete with Denver.
In the past 2 weeks I have been on the same pick that you released 4 times and won all 4 picks. They will become 10* plays in the future.
