Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 5/5
Written May 5, 2009 by Jack Jones
Disappointing day yesterday as we suffer a couple of close losses with the Reds in extra innings and the Mariners against the Rangers. We did get a come from behind win on the Brewers though to save some of our stake. Tuesday’s card has shaped up to be a nice one, with a PAIR of MLB 15* plays going with the 20* NBA No-Brainer on the Hawks/Cavs.  We are still 49-35 over our last 84 in the NBA and 20-14 in hoops on our last 34 with BEST BETS after going 3-1 the last two weeks. Baseball has still been profitable as we are on our runs of 7-3 (+328) on our last 10 and 18-12 (+552) on our last 30. Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the baseball picks & NBA picks being released by our other top handicappers.
Free Premium Picks: I’m going to take a little break from the comment for a free pick offer. Instead I’m going to release one of my premium picks as the free pick over the next couple of days. The comment offer will be back shortly! You are still more than welcome to comment on today’s pick, I appreciate the feedback.
Free Pick for Tuesday
So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer.
You can find more great winners every day by visiting our sports betting forum. Handicapper Steve Janus won the college football title here at the site, and he’s giving away all of his baseball plays for FREE in the forum.
15* St. Louis Cardinals -120 over Philadelphia Phillies at Sportsbook.com
Adam Wainright has pitched pretty well early in the season, giving up just 3 ER on 15 hits while striking out 17 in 17.3 innings at Busch Stadium. Brett Myers has given up 22 hits and 13 walks over his last 18.7 innings, so his 4.34 ERA during that span is a little misleading when you see his 1.88 WHIP. Wainright is also 3-0 against the Phillies with a 1.29 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. The Cards should have the edge with the bats as well with the team hitting .284 against right-handers compared to the .250 mark the Phillies are hitting against righties. I know St. Louis has had their bats get a little cold here lately, but expect a bounce back in front of the home crowd.

Never sure of anything in professional sports, but taking the Cards with one of their best pitchers on the mound at home after a loss is as predictable as anything in baseball. I’ve been a huge fan of Wainwright after his coming out party closing in the playoffs the year they won the World Series. The guy is well worth the risk.
