Jack’s Free Sports Picks: 8/13
Written August 13, 2009 by Jack Jones
Early 20* No Doubt Rout Thursday afternoon! I’ve also added a 15* total for this evening in bases, and I will also be releasing plays on the NFL pre-season games a little later today. 20* scores last night with the Rangers, but both 15* totals fall short. 20* plays are hitting at 61% over the last month, and overall plays stand at +2,230 units over my last 234 picks! Grab my package now at the Jack Jones home page or take a look at some of the baseball picks being released by our other top handicappers.
As of 7/31: I want to note that this is the time of the year when teams start calling up a lot of their young pitchers and position players. As a result, I am much more selective with my picks and will likely have fewer bets from here on out.
Free Premium Picks: I’m going to take a little break from the comment for a free pick offer. Instead I’m going to release one of my premium picks as the free pick over the next couple of days. The comment offer will be back shortly! You are still more than welcome to comment on today’s pick, I appreciate the feedback.
Free Pick for Thursday
So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer.

15* on Astros/Marlins OVER 10 (-110) Sportsbook.com
I like the over with two of the hottest offenses in the National League playing against two starters with mediocre numbers. The Astros are putting up 6.7 runs per game and hitting .298 as a team over their last 7 games, while the Marlins are hitting .327 as a team and scoring 7.4 runs per game in their last 7. Astros starter, Mike Hampton has a 9.75 ERA and 2.12 WHIP over his last 3 starts, while Marlins starter, Sean West has also struggled, posting a 7.36 ERA and 1.98 WHIP in his last 3. In the first three games of this 4 game series, the combined scores have been 14, 17, and 20 runs. The final game of the series should be no different.
