As of 7/31: I want to note that this is the time of the year when teams start calling up a lot of their young pitchers and position players. As a result, I am much more selective with my picks and will likely have fewer bets from here on out.

So I know I’ve had this disclaimer about the free picks being the weakest plays and that I don’t play them, but I really put 1% of my bankroll on these games in comparison to 3-4% on the regular and BEST BETS. I just don’t want people getting ridiculous on the free picks when they aren’t intended to be the highest percentage of winners that I offer.

15* on D-Backs/Phillies UNDER 9 (-115) at Sportsbook.com

Take the under in the D-Backs/Phillies game with both starters pitching well as of late. Arizona starter Doug Davis has been great in his last 3 starts, going 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. The Phillies’ Joe Blanton has pitched just as well, earning a 2.61 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over his last three starts, despite walking away with the loss in 2 of those appearances. The under is 8-15 when Davis starts this season and 6-13 when Blanton starts. I like those odds with this total set a bit higher than it probably should be.

I like this under, Davis has finally found it lately and he is pitching well, Blanton is a dueler too.
