Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans NFL Betting Odds & Spread
Written November 14, 2008 by Jason Lowry

The Tennessee Titans will take their perfect 9-0 record on the road this weekend, as they get ready for a rematch with the 4-5 Jacksonville Jaguars. Now with the Jaguars under .500 and having an extremely disappointing season, this is still a team that knows the Titans very well, and played this team to a 17-10 game in week 1. Last week the Jaguars made sure the Lions stayed winless, as they went into Detroit and beat up on them 38-14, as for the Titans they found a way to win yet again on the road, as they took down the Bears 21-14. For those of you still looking to make your week 11 NFL picks, the oddsmakers have the Titans coming into this one 3 point favorites over the Jaguars at Sportsbook.com
The Titans just keep on winning and while they don’t do it flashy they make sure to get it done. Now going into last week you would say the key to beating the TItans, would be shutting down their run game and making Kerry Collins beat you through the air, well cross that one off the list, as the Titans had just 20 total yards rushing, while Collins was amazing throwing for 289 yards and 2 scores. Now its hard to figure out just what needs to be done to stop these guys, as their aren’t many teams that have the talent like the Bears to stop the running game like they did. We expect the run game to be back in full force again this week against the Jags.
The Titans defense just doesn’t let the opposing team get much of anything going, and last week they held the Bears in check for just 14 points and a little over a 250 yards of total offense. Now the Bears weren’t at full strength with Kyle Orton sitting on the sidelines, but you can’t really think he would of had the much more of an impact on this game. Last time these two teams hooked up the Titans allowed the Jags just 33 yards on the ground and pretty much had control throughout the entire game. Bet Titans -3 at Sportsbook.com
The Jaguars finally got both Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew going in the running game, as the duo combined for 150 yards on 29 carries, with Jones-Drew leading the way with 3 touchdown runs. David Garrard was solid in the pocket completing 18 of 25 passes for 238 yards and 2 scores. Now before you go thinking this offense is back where it was a year ago, this was against the Lions, who simply suck, and its very likely the offense will go back to struggling against the Titans this week.
The Jags defense hasn’t played that bad this season, they just have got little help from the offense, and last week they showed a little of what they can do when the offense is able to stay on the field, as they held the Lions to just 14 points, and had complete control of the game from the get go. Now even though Collins picked apart the Bears last week, you have to take your chances and stop the run and force the veteran to beat you, as he likely doesn’t have to many of those games left in the tank. Last time they were unable to stop rookie Chris Johnson, and its going to be hard to stop the duo of him and LenDale White this weekend. Bet Jaguars +3 at Sportsbook.com
