Jets Ealges Line

The New York Jets will look to continue their late season surge when they go on the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jets improved to 8-5 with an easy 37-10 win over Kansas City. With the Titans and Bengals both losing in week 14, the Jets now have control over the final Wild Card spot. The Eagles went on the road and knocked of the Dolphins 26-10. Even though the Eagles are just 5-8, they still have an outside shot at winning the NFC East if they can win out.

Taking a look at the week 15 spreads, oddsmakers currently have the Eagles favored by 3-points over the Jets with the total set at 44 points.

New York Jets:

The Jets win over Kansas City was their third straight since losing back-to-back games against the Patriots and Broncos. This has been the time of the year where Rex Ryan gets his team to play their best football, but they still have plenty of work to do. After facing the Eagles on Sunday, the Jets still have a huge game against the Giants and a road game at Miami to close out the regular season.

The Jets knew their defense was going to be able to slow down a struggling Kansas City offense, but in order for them to win they had to put up points. It didn’t take long for the Jets to get rolling offensively, as they led 28-3 by the end of the first half.

Mark Sanchez was an efficient 13 of 21 for 181 yards and two scores, while Shonn Greene rushed for 129 yards and a score on 24 attempts. Greene has really came on strong over the last three weeks, rushing for 295 yards and four scores.

In order for the Jets to win this game, I believe they are going to need another huge game out of Greene on the ground. Philadelphia has struggled all season against the run. They allowed Reggie Bush to rush for 103 yards on just 14 carries and are giving up 115 yards a game on the season.

If the Jets don’t get the ground game going they could be in trouble. Philadelphia features some of the best corners in the game, who will be extremely excited to go up against the big name receivers of New York. Last week the Eagles held the Dolphins to just 95 passing yards.

Philadelphia Eagles:

The Eagles looked like they were done for after getting blown out 14-31 at Seattle in week 13, but their latest win over the Dolphins coupled with the Cowboys loss at home to the Giants, has this team believing they can still win the division. If Philadelphia can win out, they would win the division if the Cowboys lose to either the Buccaneers or Giants, and the Giants lose two of three against the Redskins, Jets, and Cowboys.  However, the Eagles could be eliminated by the start of this game if Dallas beats Tampa Bay on Saturday and the Giants knock off the Redskins in one of the early games on Sunday.

Michael Vick returned to the starting lineup against the Dolphins after missing the previous three games. Vick didn’t exactly have a great game, as he completed just 15 of 30 attempts for 208 yards with one touchdown and one interception. It definitely won’t get any easier this week against the Jets, who come in with the 6th ranked pass defense in the NFL (200.8 ypg).

Philadelphia didn’t have much success at all running the ball against the Dolphins. LeSean McCoy managed just 38 yards on 27 attempts, but did find the endzone twice. It will be extremely hard for the Eagles to win this game if they get another performance like that from McCoy.

Betting Trends:

New York is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a road underdog of 0.5-3.0.

Philadelphia is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0.
