Jets Sanchez to Start Against Falcons

Written December 19, 2009 by Jack Jones

ESPN is reporting that Mark Sanchez will make the start on Sunday against the New York Jets after missing last week’s game with a right knee injury.  Sanchez was able to practice for three straight days, taking all of the first-team offense snaps on Friday after taking three quarters of them on Thursday.

Sanchez will be wearing custom-fitted braces on both knees.  He had been wearing one on the left knee due to a previous injury.

Maybe more of a concern for people looking at the NFL point spreads is which quarterback will handle the winter weather better?  Even though the Falcons play in a dome, you also have to consider that this is Sanchez’s first real game in wintry weather.  Sanchez is a California boy, so he didn’t grow up in harsh conditions.

Kellen Clemens did a serviceable job replacing Sanchez last week, leading the Jets to a 26-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
