Video of Lebron James Getting Dunked On
Written July 22, 2009 by Jack Jones
Remember the story where Xaiver college basketball player, Jordan Crawford dunked on NBA superstar Lebron James at the Lebron James Skills Academy, but how the video was confiscated by Nike officials? Well, apparently someone had their mobile phone camcorder running and they’ve gotten the video of Jordan Crawford dunking on Lebron James at TMZ.
First of all, the quality of the video is pretty poor, and there’s no real telling exactly who you are seeing in the video. I had to watch it a few times to even see someone getting dunked on at all. What’s weird about the whole thing is how much people care. If they would have shown the footage a few times and gotten it out of the way, this wouldn’t be any kind of big deal at all, however, since it was confiscated and there was a huge media buzz about it, now it is a big deal. Hopefully this prompts Nike to release the original video because, honestly, this footage doesn’t do the dunk much justice and now I really want to see a quality version!
I don’t think this really does much to damage Lebron in the long run. It’s pretty stupid, and Nike totally overreacted, but do you really blame them for protecting one of their biggest investments ever? What I do know is that this hasn’t had any significant impact on the odds to win next year’s NBA Finals. The Cavs are currently listed at +325 odds to win the Finals, 2nd to only the Los Angeles Lakers, who are listed at +250 to win another championship.

Got something to say?

I think it’s stupid that Nike won’t release the tape. Just because LeBron James got dunked on doesn’t mean he’s still not the best player in the NBA by a mile, including Kobe. Nobody’s opinion on LeBron would’ve changed if they had just let it come out, but now the perception is that he’s image-conscious and overprotective of his reputation.

I couldn’t agree with you more. The weird thing is that I get the feeling the Lebron is the kind of guy that can laugh at himself for mistakes, but once the corporations get a hold of you it’s a whole different ball game. Money talks!
