Stafford Expected to Be Healthy Soon
Written February 9, 2010 by Jason Lowry
It was an up and down first season for the 2009 No.1 overall pick Matthew Stafford, as he showed the Detroit Lions glimpses of what is to come, especially his amazing performance against the Cleveland Browns. The down part of Stafford’s season was the fact that the rookie tossed 20 interceptions, was sacked 24 times, and missed six games because of injury.
Overall a pretty good first season for Stafford, as the Lions try to dig themselves out of the bottom of the NFL. Good news involving Stafford is that according to DetroitLions.com, Stafford is expected to be cleared for full participation by March, 15, which is when the team starts their offseason workout program.
The key will be for the Lions to continue to add pieces to the roster, and I think they could really benefit from adding some better talent to the offensive line. That way Stafford can hopefully play a full season without getting rocked by opposing defenses. Either way keep a close on what the Lions do this offseason via free agency, the NFL draft, and in the trade market, as it will have a big impact on their NFL odds for the 2010 season.
