Hurricane’s Jacory Harris Set to Play Injured in Champs Sports Bowl
Written December 23, 2009 by Jason Lowry
Sources at ESPN have acknowledged that No. 14 Miami Hurricane’s quarterback Jacory Harris is going to play in the Champs Sports Bowl against the No.24 Wisconsin Badgers. The game is set for Tuesday, December 29 at Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, FL.
Haris suffered an injury to the thumb of his throwing hand back on Nov. 14 against the North Carolina Tar Heels, but ended up playing the final two games of the regular season despite the pain.
While the NCAA football spreads will be sure to take the injury into account, it’s unlikely it will effect the odds that much. I mean we are talking about a quarterback who threw for 509 yards and 4 touchdowns in the teams final two games of the season with this same injury.
Where the concern for bettors come in, is if Harris reinjures his finger and is unable to play. It appears that Harris is a pretty tough kid, and its likely going to take a lot to get him out of the game. If you were thinking Miami before, there is little reason to steer away from the Hurricanes in this one.
