Milwaukee Bucks at Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards will try and avoid extending their season-long eight game losing streak when they host the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night at the Verizon Center. The Bucks won the first meeting 100-87 at Milwaukee back on Jan. 19.
Our NBA spreads for tonight’s game have the Bucks favored by 1-point over the Wizards with the total set at 187.5.
The Bucks ended a four game losing streak with a 92-74 win over the Raptors Tuesday night. Despite the Bucks 20-30 record, they are just 1.5-games behind Charlotte for the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Wizards fell 99-92 to Atlanta on Saturday. It was their third straight loss at home, where they are now just 13-12 on the season.
Milwaukee put on a great defensive effort against the Raptors last night. Toronto shot just 36.0% from the field, and were 0-10 from three-point range. The 74 points the Raptors scored were the second fewest Milwaukee has allowed all season.
John Salmons led five Bucks in double-figures with 17 points. Corey Maggette continued his strong play with 16 points and nine rebounds, Andrew Bogut added 14, and Brandon Jennings scored 12 points.
Jennings continues to see his minutes increase with every game back, and I feel like its only a matter of time before he is back to leading this team offensively. Jennings biggest task may simply be slowing down Wizards point guard John Wall tonight.
Washington has had three days off since their last lost to the Hawks, and you have to think we will see a little more energy from this team tonight. A big reason why the Wizards have lost eight in a row, is the fact that they have played eight straight games against teams with a winning record.
In the Wizards last game against Atlanta, all five starters scored in double figures, and Washington shot 50.6% on the game, but they went just 8-18 from the free throw line, compared to Atlanta, who was 26-35.
Nick Young led the way with 21 points, John Wall finished with 18 points, six assists, and six rebounds, and Andray Blatche had a nice game with 14 points, six boards, and five assists. Kirk Hinrich was a big spark off the bench, scoring 13 points on 6-9 shooting in just 27 minutes.
Milwaukee hasn’t been playing good enough to deserve to be a favorite on the road, where they are just 8-19 this season. The Wizards have to be sick of losing, and I feel they will really come out with the intensity needed to win this game.
Got something to say?
