Mississippi at Vanderbilt NCAA Football Lines

The No. 21 Ole Miss Rebels looks to bounce back this week at Vanderbilt. Ole Miss joined the many teams in the Top-10 to lose this season with their 10-16 setback at South Carolina last week. Now they face a Commodores team that is 2-2, but 0-2 in conference play and hungry for a win at home. If you bet on NCAA football and feel you have a good idea how this one plays out, then give the college football odds a try! You will find a line of Ole Miss -10 over Vanderbilt with a Total Set of 43.5 points.
Penn State, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and USC are all other teams that have lost when ranked in the Top-5. All managed to bounce back in their following game with an average margin of victory of 34 points. Jevan Snead will need to play much better for the Rebels this week, as there was one stretch during their loss to Gamecocks in which he missed six straight throws. Previously, the Rebels had put up 48.5 points/game and 424.5 yards/game through their first two contests. Snead also had a string of eight straight games with at least two touchdown passes snapped last week. He was a paltry 7-of-21 passing for 107 yards and a lone touchdown.

Vanderbilt was actually the last team to prevent Snead from throwing a touchdown, winning last year 23-17 at Ole Miss in September. They forced four interceptions from Snead, and they’ll need a similar defensive effort if they are to avoid falling to 0-3 in SEC play this year. Vandy will have a hard time getting their offense going against the SEC’s second-best scoring defense, as the Rebels allow just 12.0 points/game. The Commodores had scored just 12 points combined in two losses before beating Rice 36-17 last Saturday. Senior running back Jared Hawkins saw his first action of the season last week after missing the first three games, helping Vanderbilt to rush for 216 yards on 43 carries. He was their leading ground gainer in 2008, so getting him back is a huge boost to the offense.
