NBA Picks: Charlotte Bobcats at Golden State Warriors
Written by Steve Janus - Google +
The Charlotte Bobcats will go for their fourth straight win on the road when they visit the Golden State Warriors Friday Night. The Bobcats lost 96-95 to the Warriors at home earlier this season, but haven’t been swept by Golden State since the 2004-05 season.
Charlotte comes in off a 114-107 win at Phoenix on Wednesday, and have started off their six-game road trip with two straight wins. The Bobcats are 4-1 in their last five games and 10-6 overall since Paul Silas took over as head coach.
The Warriors will try and end a three-game losing streak, as they fell 112-103 to the Hornets on Wednesday. Charlotte had won four straight at home, before falling to the Spurs and Hornets.
Taking a look at the NBA spreads for tonight’s game, oddsmakers have the Warriors favored by 4-points over the Bobcats with the total set at 206.

All five starters for the Bobcats scored in double figures against the Suns. Stephen Jackson had a team-high 23 points while Gerald Wallace added 22 points and 10 rebounds. Boris Diaw had an all-around good game with 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists, D.J. Augustin added 15 points and 10 assists, and Gerald Henderson came off the bench to net 15.
Charlotte shot 50.6% from the field, including 9-17 from three-point range. Hard to imagine the Bobcats offense slowing down against the Warriors tonight. Golden State has allowed at least 112 points in each of their last four games, and just let the Hornets shoot 62.2% from the field.
The Warriors got plenty of offense in their loss to the Hornets, as Monta Ellis had 26 points, Dorell Wright finished with 25, Stephen Curry added 20, and David Lee chipped in with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Golden State however got just 14 points from their bench players.
Defense is really killing the Warriors right now. They were outscored in the paint 60-40 and 35-11 on fast break points against the Hornets. It doesn’t how much offense you produce if you keep letting the other team score more than you.
Maybe the Bobcats will help the Warriors turn things around. Golden State held Charlotte to just 42.2% shooting in their game earlier this season.
While I think Charlotte is playing some nice basketball right now, I think they are in a tough spot against the Warriors tonight. The Bobcats are playing their third game in four days on the road, while the Warriors haven’t left Golden State since they went to Los Angeles to play the Clippers last Saturday. I think you lay the four points and look for the Warriors to take over this game late.
