NBA Picks: Indiana Pacers at Miami Heat
Written by Steve Janus - Google +
The Indiana Pacers will look to make it five straight wins under interim head coach Frank Vogel when they visit the Miami Heat Tuesday night. Indiana won at Miami 93-77 back on Nov. 22.
Oddsmakers don’t seem to think that will happen again, as our NBA spreads have the Heat favored by 10.5-points over the Pacers with the total set at 198.
Indiana has looked like a completely different team since Vogel has taken over. The Pacers made easy work of the Nets on Sunday, winning 105-86 at New Jersey, and are averaging 106.5 points since Vogel has taken charge.
The Heat are also rolling right now. Miami beat the Clippers 97-79 on Sunday for their sixth straight win.

Since Vogel has taken over, at least four different players have scored in double-figures in each game, and the points are coming from all over this roster. In their last game against the Nets, Dahntay Jones led the way with 18 points off the bench. Mike Dunleavy led all starters with 17, while Paul George chipped in 14 of the Pacers 48 bench points.
In the Pacers previous game against the Trail Blazers, Danny Granger scored a game-high 25 points, Roy Hibbert dropped 15, and Tyler Hansbrough came off the bench to help out with 13 points and eight boards.
The Pacers are rotating a lot of guys in and keeping everyone fresh, and it will be interesting to see how this team matches up against a team like Miami.
The Heat are finally getting back to full-strength, and could be on the verge of starting another one of those ridiculous runs. The Heat won 21 of 22 earlier this season.
In the Heat’s last game against the Clippers they got 28 points from Dwyane Wade, 16 from Chris Bosh, and just 12 points from LeBron James, but that was plenty with the way these guys played on the defensive end. Miami held the Clippers to just 32.5% shooting and forced them into 19 turnovers.
Miami got a nice spark from Eddie House off the bench, as he dropped 15 points in just 22 minutes. Miami’s bench outscored the Clippers 33-14. Any time the Heat can win by 18 points with just 12 points from James, really tells you how good this team is, and how good they can be.
While the Heat looked great against the Clippers, Los Angeles was without one of their best scorers in Eric Gordon, and that game likely would have been a lot closer had he played. I think with the way Indiana is playing, you have no choice but to take the 10.5-points in this one.
