NBA Picks: Miami Heat at Milwaukee Bucks

Written by -

The Miami Heat will go for their 12 consecutive win on the road when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center tonight. The Heat haven’t lost on the road since they crushed the Cleveland Cavaliers back on Dec. 2. One of the road wins for Miami include a 88-78 win at Milwaukee.  The Heat won at home against the Bucks on Tuesday 101-89, despite trailing by four-points at the break. Milwaukee went on the road and lost at Orlando 97-87 the following night, and have won just once in their last five games. Our NBA spreads have the Heat favored by just 7-points over the Bucks.

The Heat have now won 19 of their last 20 games, and outside of their loss to the Mavericks, only four games have been decided by less than 10 points. For whatever reason opposing crowds continue to taunt the Heat, and it just seems to light a fire under the dynamic trio of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh.

Miami isn’t just winning games on the road, they are crushing their opponents by an average of 15 points a game. Dwyane Wade leads the NBA, averaging 29.2 points a game on the road this season, and James isn’t far behind at 28.5. I think this streak really means something to the Heat, and you have to wonder what its going to take to stop them, cause if they come to play tonight, the Bucks don’t have a chance.

Milwaukee gets it after it defensively and are a pretty physical team, and it is going to take four quarters of relentless defense for them to pull out the win tonight. Milwaukee has been able to knock off some of the better teams this season, as they have wins over the Lakers, Magic, and Mavericks twice, but none of those teams were playing as good as Miami is playing right now.

Milwaukee is still without leading scorer Brandon Jennings, Carlos Delfino, and Drew Gooden, making it that much harder for the Bucks to pull off the upset tonight.

The Heat aren’t just getting it done on the offensive side, they are the toughest team in the league to shoot on, as they are holding opponents to just 42% from the field. In two games against the Heat, Milwaukee’s best shooting performance was 39.7%.

I think there is no question you roll on the Heat at -7, as I think this line should be closer to double-digits. The Heat are out to prove something right now, and the Bucks aren’t going to slow them down.
