NBA Picks: Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors
Written by Steve Janus - Google +
The Minnesota Timberwolves will go on the road to take on the Golden State Warriors tonight, in a game between two teams that are really struggling just to win games. The Timberwolves come in off a 113-82 loss at Chicago on Saturday, giving them nine losses in their last 11 games. The thing is the Warriors have been just as bad, if not worse of late. Golden State fell 108-95 at Utah on Monday, for their seventh straight loss, and have now lost 12 of their last 13 games. The only win during that stretch, was a 104-94 win at Minnesota. If you are thinking about betting on the game, the current NBA spreads have the Warriors favored by 3-points over the Timberwolves at home.

Minnesota should get some much needed help back in their lineup tonight, as second year point guard Jonny Flynn and Martell Webster are expected to make their season debuts. Flynn averaged 15 points and six assists against the Warriors last season, and should fit in nicely with forwards Kevin Love and Michael Beasley. Webster, who was acquired from Portland, should give the Timberwolves some much needed depth on the outside.
It could take a couple games for the chemistry to form, but its hard to imagine Flynn and Webster not helping this team right away with the struggles this team has been having.
It is hard to imagine the Timberwolves could be this bad with the way Love has been playing of late. Love had 23 points and 15 rebounds against the Bulls, and has had at least 20 points and 15 boards in six straight games. If Love continues to play at this level, the wins are going to come for this team.
The Warriors will be without one of their biggest weapons against the Timberwolves tonight, as Stephen Curry is still out with an ankle injury. Curry has averaged 23.5 points, 10.5 assists, and five steals in his last two games against the Timberwolves, so you can see what kind of production the Warriors will be missing.
With Curry out of the lineup look for the Timberwolves to turn their attention to Dorell Wright and Monta Ellis. Wright scored 30 points against the Timberwolves earlier this season, and Ellis is the Warriors leading scorer at 24 points a game.
I think this is the perfect opportunity to take the points and bet on the Timberwolves, as I not only think they have a chance to cover, but I could see them winning this game outright. For more help with this game, check out what our experts have to say in their daily NBA picks.
