NBA Picks: San Antonio Spurs at Philadelphia 76ers
Written by Steve Janus - Google +
The San Antonio Spurs will go for their fifth consecutive win on the road when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. Winning in Philadelphia has not been easy for the Spurs, they are just 2-8 in their last 10 trips. San Antonio did beat the 76ers 116-93 at home back on Nov. 13.
Taking a look at the NBA spreads for tonight’s games, oddsmakers have the Spurs favored by 3.5-points over the 76ers with the total set at 197.5.
San Antonio outscored the Toronto 30-16 in the final quarter to come away with a 111-100 win. The Spurs are now 4-1 on their nine-game road trip.
The 76ers couldn’t find a way to beat the Magic on Wednesday, falling 99-95. Philadelphia has played a lot better of late, and are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

DeJuan Blair really came on late to help the Spurs pull out the win in Toronto. Blair put in 16 of his 28 points in the final 12 minutes, and also finished the game with 11 boards. Blair has been rock solid on the road trip, averaging 15.2 points and 10.2 rebounds.
San Antonio really passed the ball well against the Raptors, as four different players had six or more assists on the game. Manu Ginobili led the way with nine assists to go with his 12 points, Tony Parker added eight with 16 points, and Tim Duncan and George Hill each had six. Hill provided a big spark off the bench with 18 points.
The Spurs ended up shooting 58% on the game, and regardless of their past in Philadelphia, if they play this well tonight, its going to be hard for them to lose this game.
While the 76ers kept it close against the Magic, they are going to have to play better against the Spurs. Lou Williams led the way with 23 points in just 27 minutes off the bench, Andre Iguodala had 21 points and eight assists, and Jodie Meeks put in 17 points and grabbed eight boards.
Philadelphia needs to find a way to get Jrue Holiday going again. Holiday has averaged just 6.5 points, 3.7 assists, and just 3 rebounds in his last four games since recording a triple-double against the Nets.
This figures to be a good spot for the 76ers to take yet another game at home against San Antonio. The Spurs will be playing their third game in the last four days on the road, and I think they are due for a let down. I think you take the points and roll with Philadelphia in this one.
