NBA Spreads: Boston Celtics at Charlotte Bobcats
Written by Steve Janus - Google +
The Boston Celtics look to take down the Charlotte Bobcats for a seventh straight time when the two teams face off Monday night at Time Warner Cable Arena. Boston has won both meetings so far this season, including a 93-62 win at Charlotte.
Taking a look at the NBA spreads for this game, oddsmakers have the Celtics favored by 4.5-points with the total set at 183.5.
The Celtics come in off an impressive 91-80 win at home over the Orlando Magic on Sunday, but are just 5-3 in their last eight games. The Bobcats fell 101-92 to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday for their second straight loss, and are just 1-4 in their last five.

Boston was led by point guard Rajon Rondo in their come from behind win over the Magic. Rondo had 26 points to go along with seven assists. Paul Pierce had a rough day shooting, hitting just 4-11, but still finished with 18 points. Kevin Garnett added 16, while Ray Allen and Glen Davis each had 11.
Allen went 2-4 from three-point range against the Magic, and needs just three more to tie Reggie Miller for the all-time lead. Allen is 6-10 from long distance in two games against the Bobcats this season.
The Celtics have done a great job defensively against the Bobcats this season. Charlotte is shooting just 37.8% against the Celtics this season, and should be able to continue that trend tonight.
Charlotte hasn’t topped the 100 point mark in each of their last five games, but did have six different players score in double figures against the Mavericks. D.J. Augustin led the way with 21 points, Stephen Jackson finished with 17, and Gerald Wallace ended up with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bobcats had just two players reach double digits in their home loss to the Celtics, and if they don’t get a more balanced attack tonight, they don’t figure to have much of a chance in this one.
One thing that could help Charlotte out is the fact that Boston is playing the second game of a back-t0-back, and really had to give it their all to beat the Magic. Boston is just 6-6 on zero days rest, and only 3-9 ATS in those games.
The problem for Charlotte is they just don’t match up well with the Celtics, and its hard to ignore the fact that Boston has won six straight in the series. I think you have to take your chances on the Celtics winning this game by at least five-points. Charlotte is just 12-13 at home this season.
