NBA Spreads: Boston Celtics at Sacramento Kings

Written by -

The Sacramento Kings will go for their first three-game winning streak of the season Tuesday night when they host the Boston Celtics at ARCO Arena. The Celtics beat Sacramento 119-95 at Boston back on Jan. 12, but the Kings were without Tyreke Evans.

The Celtics come in off an impressive 109-96 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, and will look to end their four-game road trip with a 3-1 mark.

The Kings last two wins have been pretty impressive. Sacramento beat the Lakers on the road 100-95 on Friday, and then followed that up with a 102-96 win at home against the Hornets on Saturday.

Taking a look at the NBA spreads for tonight’s game, oddsmakers have the Celtics favored by 6.5-points over the Kings with the total set at 192.

While the oddsmakers aren’t giving the Kings much of a chance in this game, I guarantee the Celtics are taking a closer look at this Kings team after their two recent wins. Boston is just 2-3 in their last five games on the road, including a 85-83 loss at Washington.

Boston however is getting closer and closer to getting back to full health, and as they do I think we are going to see this team go on a complete tear to finish the season. In their last game against the Lakers, Paul Pierce led the way with 32 points, Ray Allen added 21, Kevin Garnett scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Rajon Rondo put in 10 to go along with his 16 assists.

Kendrick Perkins had just two points off the bench, but Boston got 11 from Nate Robinson and 13 from Glen Davis. It seems that whenever Boston comes to play they more than likely win, and just how serious they take the Kings will likely determine the outcome of this game. Cousins had just eight points against the Celtics earlier this season.

Sacramento will look for another big effort from DeMarcus Cousins tonight. Cousins had 27 points and 10 boards against the Lakers, and then followed that up with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists in a near triple-double against the Hornets.

Tyreke Evans has also been playing very well of late. Evans had 18 points and six assists against the Hornets. and is averaging 22.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds over his last five games.

The Kings are going to need more than Cousins and Evans to beat the Celtics. Beno Udrih needs to play well, and with center Jason Thompson possibly out for this game, the Kings are going to need a big game out of Samuel Dalembert, who had 16 points and six boards in just 28 minutes against the Hornets.

I think the Celtics are giving up too many points in this game. Boston is playing their fourth road game in their last six days, and the Kings are playing a lot better than they are getting credit for. I think you have to take the Sacramento and the 7-points at home tonight.
