NBA Spreads: New Jersey Nets at Golden State Warrios
Written by Steve Janus - Google +
The Golden State Warriors are set to hose the New Jersey Nets Monday afternoon. The Warriors come in off an impressive 122-112 win over the Clippers on Friday, and are hoping they can build off that and put together a nice little run at home. The NetsĀ simply want to win a game. New Jersey fell for the fifth straight game with a 96-89 loss at Portland on Saturday, and have won just once in their last 11 games. Taking a look at the NBA spreads for tonight’s games, oddsmakers have the Warriors favored by 7-5.points over the Nets.

The Nets have lost their last two games, despite a couple a really nice games from Brook Lopez. Lopez had 35 points against the Lakers on Friday, and then followed that up with 32 points at Portland. Even though the Nets lost, they have to be liking what they see out of Lopez.
Devin Harris is usually the guy who gets this team going, but Harris has really struggled lately. In his last five games, he has scored in double figures just one, and that was 15 points against the Suns. Harris is distributing the ball well, averaging eight assists over those five, but for the Nets to win they need him to be more of a threat to score.
As for the Warriors, Monta Ellis had 30 and six assists in the win over the Clippers, and is averaging 28.5 and just under six assists in his last five games. Ellis had 38 points the night before against the Lakers.
Stephen Curry bounced back from a couple of rough games with 23 points against the Clippers. Curry hadn’t scored more than 15 points in his last three games, and was just 4-16 from three-point range. Curry hit 5-7 from downtown in his last game, and you can expect he will be letting it fly tonight.
The Warriors bring a fast-paced attack, and it can sometimes be hard for teams to keep up with their style of play. Neither of these two teams are all that good defensively, but what really separates these two teams is the Nets inability to play well on the road. New Jersey is just 3-20 away from home, and are not playing that well overall.
I think you have to lay the 9.5-points and bet the Warriors to win this game by at least double digits. Golden State plays much better at home, and overall the better team. Plus many of the Nets players are still hearing a lot of trade talk, which can be difficult to play around.
