NBA Spreads: Phoenix Suns at Cleveland Cavaliers
Written by Steve Janus - Google +
The Phoenix Suns will look to continue their strong play of late when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 ET at Quicken Loans Arena.
It appears that the Suns are starting to get things finally figured out, as they have won three straight, after beating the Knicks 129-121 at New York on Monday. It came just two days after they beat the Portland Trail Blazers, the team they are currently trailing for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoff picture.
If the Suns can’t win their fourth straight, they might as well give up on this season. Cleveland has 13 straight and 24 of their last 24 games. Lately the Cavaliers haven’t even been close to getting a win. Cleveland has been outscored by 105 points in their last three games, including a 127-99 lost at Denver on Saturday.
Taking a look at the NBA spreads for tonight’s games, oddsmakers have the Suns favored by 7.5-points over the Cavaliers.

These two teams just recently faced off at Phoenix on Jan. 9, with the Suns winning 108-100, but with the way both teams have played since that game, you have to like the Suns chances of winning easily at Cleveland.
Many were counting the Suns out of the West playoff picture, but now that they have won three straight, they all the sudden have some life and are just 2.5 games behind Portland. A big reason for the Suns turnaround has been their ability to get the offense going. Phoenix is averaging 120.7 points over their last three games.
Steve Nash is averaging just over 20 points and 13 assists in his last three games, and had 20 points and 17 assists in the Suns win over Cleveland.
In the Suns most recent win over the Knicks, Vince Carter had 29 points, Grant Hill had 25, and Channing Frye had 18. The three combined to go 9-15 from three-point range, and when the Suns are hitting from outside they can beat anybody.
The Cavaliers have had a terrible time stopping teams from draining shot after shot from long distance. Cleveland has allowed at least 10 three pointers in their last five games, and with the way Phoenix is shooting, its hard to imagine them stopping that streak.
The Cavaliers haven’t done much at all well lately. Cleveland has allowed their opponents to score at least 100 points in 10 straight games, while crossing the 100 point mark just twice during that span.
Cleveland figures to have Daniel Gibson back after he sat out the last five games with an ankle injury, but will more than likely not have Mo Williams, who injured his hip in the loss against the Nuggets.
With the way the Cavaliers are struggling right now, its hard to see this team even keeping it close, especially against a good offensive team like the Suns. I say lay the 7.5 and take Phoenix.
