NCAA Basketball Picks 1/24/08

Tough 2-2 day yesterday as South Carolina and Cincinnati both lose heart breakers while our other two games win comfortably. Let’s bounce back with a big Thursday card.

Virginia Tech +8.5

Virginia Tech comes into this game a perfect 8-0 on their home floor and while they stand at just 11-7 overall, Duke is just 11-23 ATS when playing a team with a winning percentage over 60% the last three seasons. The Hokies have been playing some close games lately, and we expect this to be another tight one with the Blue Devils.

Wisconsin-Green Bay -2.5

Wisconsin Green Bay is 6-0 ATS in the game after an upset loss as a favorite the last two seasons. Well they have lost three straight games but the most painful one was to Wisconsin Milwaukee last time out. The good news is that this team has dominated on their home floor so we think they will get the cover here as well.

Arizona -1.5

Washington State is 17-1 this year and we expect a lot of people to be playing them tonight, but Arizona has 8-2 on their home floor with a winning margin of over 12 ppg. The Wildcats have had to play four straight games on the road, so both the players and fans should be excited to get this top team on their home floor.

Oregon State +8.5

Oregon State has been struggling, but this team is 9-1 ATS after losing six or more straight games the last three seasons. So why are we taking a team that is struggling so bad? Well after USC beat UCLA on Saturday the odds makers are giving the team a little too much credit. Don’t expect the same result here as the Beavers keep it close.

Oregon +3.5

Oregon is 14-5 ATS on their home floor after covering the spread in their last game over the past three seasons. The Ducks are 8-0 at home this year and played both Washington and Washington State tough on the road. UCLA is coming off their home loss to USC and will have a tough time getting up for this one on the road.
