NCAA Basketball Picks 1/29/08
Written January 29, 2008 by Jack Jones
We cash in with our winner on the College of Charleston yesterday, now we have two more games lined up for Tuesday that will keep the gravy train rolling along.
Eastern Kentucky +4
Earlier in the year, Eastern Kentucky beat Tennessee-Martin 70-51 on their home floor and we see no reason to beleive they are going to lose this game as the visitor. Tennessee-Martin is 1-9 ATS when revenging a double digit loss in their last 10 spots. Eastern Kentucky is 7-0 ATS when playing against a team with a winning percentage of between 40-49% the last two seasons. Eastern Kentucky is coming off a big win against Tennessee State and the team is 15-5 ATS after a win over a conference rival the last three seasons. This game is going to be low scoring and we see the points as a premium here so we are taking what the lines makers are giving us.
Virginia Commonwealth +3.5
Virginia Commonwealth is 18-9 ATS against teams with a winning record the last two years so they aren’t afraid of George Mason coming in at 15-6 and 9-0 on their home floor. George Mason is a conservative team on defense that doesn’t force turnovers and doesn’t foul. That plays right into Virginia Commonwealth’s hands as they are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games against teams who force less than 12 turnovers and 33-17 ATS against teams who are called for less than 17 fouls per game.
Overall Record 29-35
