Iowa State v. Nebraska Football Picks & Predictions
Written October 15, 2008 by Jay Todd

The Huskers finally get a break from playing the nation’s best. They are coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss to a very good Texas Tech team. Bo Pelini will have his team ready to rebound after losses against three solid opponents. Iowa State on the other hand is coming into this game on a four game losing streak, including a 28-point loss to Baylor. Look for this one to get uglier than the college football odds show. BetUS has Nebraska as a 7-point favorite over Iowa State.
Nebraska has had no problem scoring this year, as the Huskers average 33 points per game. Joe Ganz has been outstanding for Nebraska this year. He has thrown for 1636 yards and 11 touchdowns. Ganz has faced some very good defenses so far, so look for him to tear apart this Iowa State defense that allows 220 yards passing per game. Ganz will look to hook up with Nate Swift and Todd Peterson. These two wide outs have combined for 716 yards and five touchdowns. Look for them both to have big games.
The Cyclone defense also struggles heavily against the run. They are giving up nearly 170 yards each game. Nebraska features a solid running back trio of Marlon Lucky, Quentin Castille, and Roy Helu. Luck is the starter and has rushed for 300 yards and has five total touchdowns. Helu and Castille are both big, powerful backs. The two have combined for four scores. Look for this trio to have an enormous day against a horrible Iowa State defense.
Iowa State has one of the worst defenses in the Big 12. That going against a high powered Husker offense makes this an easy call. Jay Todd is offering us more of his college football picks this week, and he says to play Nebraska -6.5 vs. Iowa State
