Nevada at Boise State College Football Betting Lines

Written November 24, 2009 by Kyle Hunter

This Friday evening there will be a showdown in Boise as the Nevada Wolfpack travel to take on the Boise State Broncos in a much anticipated match up of the two best teams in the WAC. The Nevada running game is the best in the country statistics wise, but the Boise State passing and rushing attacks are strong. This should be a very entertaining game for college football fans to tune into on Friday evening. The Boise State Broncos are still undefeated and sit at #6 in the country. The hopes of a shot at a national title seem almost gone, but they still have a chance at an at-large BCS berth. They haven’t broke much of a sweat lately while cruising through the WAC conference. Kellen Moore has the most touchdown passes of any quarterback in the nation with 33, and Moore has thrown just 3 picks in 330 passing attempts. Moore is a great leader for the team and plays more like seasoned veteran than a sophomore. The Boise State rushing attack is also strong led by Jeremy Avery and Doug Martin. Avery is the speed back, while Martin is more of a power back, but both average about 6 yards per carry on the season so far. In Austin Pettis and Titus Young the Broncos have two great wide receivers that command a lot of attention from the defense. The defense of the Broncos has played very well this season, allowing just 17 points per game.

The Nevada Wolfpack may have started the season slowly, but they are definitely on fire right now. The Wolfpack have won 8 games in a row and come into Boise with a whole lot of confidence. The Nevada rushing offense is nothing short of amazing. For the year Nevada is averaging a stunning 374 yards per game on the ground. In its last 3 games Nevada has averaged an eye-popping 520 yards rushing per game! The rushing game starts with quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who is absolutely terrific on his feet and averages 8.6 yards per carry. In the backfield the Wolfpack have both Vai Taua and Luke Lippincott, who average 8 and 7.7 yards per carry. Kaepernick is definitely the leader of this offense and he possesses the ability to air it out if the defense does happen to slow down the run at all. Kapernick has thrown 16 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions this season. The defense of the Wolfpack has played well lately, albeit against weak opponents. Over the season Nevada has allowed 286 yards per game through the air, so they are susceptible to the pass.

The college football odds show Boise State as a 13.5 point home favorite in this battle. When making your football picks remember these two trends: Nevada is 1-7 against the spread in the last 8 meetings and Boise State is 44-18-2 against the spread in their last 64 home games.

This will definitely be the best test Boise State has received in a long time. The Nevada offense is a lot of fun to watch with their innovative pistol formation and the great running game. Both of these teams are going to put up a whole lot of points in this one. Can Boise State at least slow down the Nevada running attack? That is the biggest key to this game.

My college football picks are on fire right now! Last weekend I went 6-2, bringing my total to 12-3 in the last two weekends. The Nevada and Boise State game may well be on this weekend’s card as well. Check out the premium packages and get on board this weekend!
