Week 16 NFL Odds

This week the NFL party gets started on Thursday with the Indianapolis Colts going for their 8th straight win in Jacksonville against the Jags. Indianapolis is a 6 point favorite over the Jags.
Saturday the NFL gives us an early Christmas present with a game between the Baltimore Ravens playing against the Dallas Cowboys in the last game ever at Texas Stadium. The Cowboys are favored by 4 over the Ravens.
Sunday we have one of the biggest games of the year in the NFL as the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers battle for AFC supremacy. As it stands, the Steelers are 2 point favorites in Tennessee against the Titans this week.
Miami still has an outside chance at the division and a pretty good chance at the playoffs. Winning out would certainly help. They absolutely can’t lose in Kansas City this week as 4 point favorites over the Chiefs.
The Arizona Cardinals already earned a spot in the playoffs by winning in the worst division in football. This week they play at New England against a Patriots team that’s still deep in the playoff hunt. The Pats are 7.5 point favorites against the Cardinals this week.
The Browns and the Bengals don’t have much to play for this week. You could argue that the loser has more to gain as far as the draft is concerned. Nevertheless, they will play football in Cleveland this Sunday with the Browns favored by 3 points over the Bengals.
The red-hot Philadelphia Eagles try to extend their 3 game winning streak and remain alive in the NFC Wildcard race. They face the Redskins, who are still technically alive in the Wild Card as well, but who have dropped 3 straight and will need a miracle to sneak into the last playoff spot. The Eagles are 5 point favorites in Washington.
There probably won’t be a lot of interest in the San Francisco/St. Louis game this week. The Rams have been hurt badly by injuries and the 49ers came on a little too late. Mike Singletary seems to have San Fran on the right track though and the 49ers are 5.5 point favorites at St. Louis this week.
The Falcons need to win out, and they still might miss the playoffs this year. It’s been a great season for them regardless. Minnesota has quietly put together a 9-5 record this year, proving just how important a running game and a solid defense can be in the NFL. In Minnesota the Vikings are favored by 3 over the Falcons.
This has to be the game the Lions think they can win. They play at home against the New Orleans Saints, who have won just one game on the road this year and who have been eliminated from the playoff picture. Drew Brees is gunning for the NFL passing yards record though and the Saints are 7 point favorites in Detroit.
The Panthers can thank the Giants for giving them an opportunity to contend for the top seed in the NFC. The Giants have dropped two straight but are 3 point favorites at home against Carolina.
The Jets are still fighting for their division and their game next week against the Dolphins will probably decide their fate. They can’t overlook the Seahawks this week, however, as Seattle is still tough at home. The Jets are favored by 5 over the Seahawks this week.
The Texans will try to parlay their big win over the Titans last week into another win in Oakland this coming Sunday. Both teams are out of the playoffs. The Texans are 7 point favorites against the Raiders.
It’s hard to believe at 6-8 that the Chargers are still technically alive in the playoff race. They face a very tough Tampa team at home this week that rarely gives up any ground at home and that is trying to hold on to the last playoff spot in the NFC. The Bucs are 3 point favorites over the Chargers.
Monday Night Football this week features the Packers and the Bears in an old school rivalry game. The Packers are out of the playoff race right now, while the Bears can still get in. Chicago is a 4 point favorite at home this week.
