Week 13 NFL Odds

Written November 26, 2008 by Jack Jones

Starting on Thursday in the NFL this week we have three games.  The first game features Tennessee and Detroit.  What a gift to the Titans after their first loss of the season to play the worst team in the NFL.  The Titans are 11 point favorites in Detroit on Thanksgiving with the total for the game set at 44 points.

The Seahawks and Cowboys also play on the Thursday with Dallas favored by 12.5 points.  The Seahawks do have a horrible record, but are we really supposed to believe Romo is 100%?

The Arizona Cardinals aren’t in a must-win situation as 3 point underdogs at the Philadelphia Eagles this week, but they could clinch the NFC West with a victory.

Denver doesn’t get an easy chance to wash the bad taste left in their mouths after losing to Oakland at home last week.  The Broncos play at the New York Jets, one of the hottest teams in football right now.  The Jets are 7.5 point favorites at home against the Broncos.

Buffalo has had an up-and-down season, but they got back on the right track with a trashing of St. Louis last week.  This week they host the 49ers, who haven’t looked that much better than the Rams this season.  The Bill get the nod as 6.5 point home favorites.

The Saints look to build off of the momentum they gained by blowing out the Packers on Monday Night Football this week, but they’ll have to do it in Tampa Bay against a Bucs team that’s been very tough on both sides of the ball this season.  The Bucs are currently 3.5 point favorites.

Green Bay has to win this week against Carolina to even stay alive in their quest for an NFC North title.  Carolina looked awful last week against the Falcons and it’s starting to look like they have a major weakness on the road.  The Packers are favored by  a field goal in Green Bay.

The New York Giants have looked like the best team in the NFL this year.  At this point it would be surprising if the Giants didn’t make the Super Bowl to defend their title.  This week New York is a road favorite of 3.5 points at the Washington Redskins.

This Sunday the Baltimore Ravens are favored by 7 points over the Cincinnati Bengals.  The Ravens won 17-10 in Week 1 this year, but something tells me Baltimore has improved much more than Cincinnati since then.

The Colts have won 4 straight, but can’t take anything for granted on the road in Cleveland this week.  We just found out Brady Quinn is out for the rest of the season, though, but it’s hard to say whose favor that really works in at this point.  With Quinn’s injury, the Colts are 5 point favorites in Cleveland.

The Falcons continue to surprise and the Chargers continue to disappoint.  Is there potential for another letdown from the Bolts in San Diego this week?  The Falcons come in as 4.5 point underdogs.

New England is a 1 point favorite over Pittsburgh this week as Matt Cassell tried to out-duel Big Ben and the Steelers.

Somebody has to win in the Oakland/Kansas City game.  The Raiders are 3 point favorites at home, but there’s no telling what could happen between two of the worst teams in football.

There’s a classic Midwest rivalry in Minnesota this week as the Bears visit the Vikings.  With the NFC North up for grabs, this is a very big game for both teams.  Minnesota is a 3 point favorite over Chicago.

Monday Night Football this week features Jacksonville at Houston.  This might sound like a snoozer, but Jacksonville isn’t as good as they were thought to be and the Texans always play them close.  Houston is actually a 3 point favorite this week.
