Week 15 NFL Football Picks & Predictions
Written December 10, 2008 by Anthony Moretti
The Saints and the Bears both need wins pretty badly this Thursday, but neither team has a ton of momentum at the moment. The Saints are just 1-5 on the road this year, while the Bears stand at 4-2 at home on the season. I’ll take the Bears -3 with a final of 23-14.
With the Packers and the Jags meeting this Sunday, I’ll pick the Pack to get back on track on the road this week 31-16.
The Lions are bad. 0-16 bad. They are getting 17 points at Indy this week, but I’m still on the Colts. The final score should be something like 42-10.
Washington has plenty of motivation this week at Cincinnati. The Bengals have none. I’ll give the six and a half and take the Skins to win 24-10.
Huge game in Atlanta between the Bucs and the Falcons. The loser won’t be out of the playoffs, but the winner will gain some major ground in that race. I’m taking Cinderella on Sunday with the Falcons to win and cover 23-17.
The 49ers are on a two game winning streak. The last time the niners won 2 in a row? Weeks 2 and 3. San Fran then rattled off six straight losses. They’ve played better since then, but they have a long road trip to Miami and the Dolphins are still fighting for a playoff spot and shouldn’t leave anything to chance here. Miami covers the 6.5 point spread with a final predicted score of 21-10.
The Jets need to get back on track this week at home against the Buffalo Bills. The line is set at New York -8 and the way that the Bills have been playing, I like the Jets to win this one big, 38-17.
The Titans don’t have a lot to play for this week with the playoffs, the division, and a first-round bye already locked up. They’ll likely rest all of their starters in Houston, so I’ll take the Texans +3 at home as they’ve played a lot better than their record this year indicates. Final score prediction: Houston 28, Tennessee 21.
In probably the biggest game of the weekend, the Ravens host the Steelers as 2 point favorites in Baltimore. Pitt’s defense has been great, but there offense has been hard to find lately. I like the Ravens to win 17-13 and get some revenge on the Steelers this week.
Carolina has been unbeatable at home and I think they stay that was this week against the Denver Broncos. Carolina wins, but the Broncos cover, Panthers 27, Broncos 21.
The San Diego Chargers haven’t been good this year, but they should get past the Chiefs on the road and cover the 5.5 point spread. Final score comes in at 35-21 Chargers.
I’m sure the Giants don’t want to lose to Dallas, but it’s not a win they really need. The ‘Boys have a lot to play for and, if their offense can come back this week, they pick up a home win over the defending champs 28-24.
Monday Night Football pits the Philadelphia Eagles against the Browns. The Eagles have something to play for (a possible playoff spot) the Browns have little to nothing to play for. Philly in a route 38-7.
