Week 11 NFL Picks

Written November 12, 2008 by Anthony Moretti

This week I’ll take a look at my favorite ten NFL bets of week 11.  The Pats against the Jets should be an interesting rematch this week.  I’ve got the Titans losing their undefeated status, which I’m sure won’t be anyone’s favorite pick.  The Steelers really need a win this week against San Diego, who could use some winning of  their own.  The Vikings at Tampa Bay could end up looking more like a baseball score than a football one with two great defenses on the field.  The Colts might finally be out of their early season slump.  The rest of the league better hope that they aren’t catching fire now like they have in the past at the beginning of the year.  The Giants will have their work cut out for them against the Ravens and the Detroit Lions are still the worst team in football.  Now, let’s make some money this week in the NFL!  Bookmaker.com has the earliest lines of any online sportsbook and if you sign up now you can take advantage of a 20% deposit bonus.  Good luck!

NY JETS @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS -3
The Jets at the Patriots on Thursday night might be the biggest game of the week in the NFL.  The Patriots are giving 3 points at home.  New England got past the Jets on NY’s home field, I think they get it done again Thursday.  The Pats win this one 24-14.

TENNESSEE TITANS @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS +3
Tennessee comes into Jacksonville this week favored by 3 points.  The Titans are undefeated, but I don’t see them leaving Jacksonville that way.  Tough place to play against an underrated team.  Jacksonville upsets Tennessee 20-17.

DENVER BRONCOS @ ATLANTA FALCONS -6.5
The Falcons have been deadly at home this year, which is probably why they are 6.5 point favorites against Denver.  The Broncos get consideration for their offense, but their defense is bad enough for me to take the Falcons Sunday.  The Falcons come through at home 31-24.

BALTIMORE RAVENS +6.5 @ NY GIANTS
Baltimore doesn’t seem as phased on the road as much as other teams in the NFL, they’ve notched a 3-2 record as the visitor.  The Ravens don’t get the win, but they keep it very close.  Giants in a squeaker 23-20

HOUSTON TEXANS @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS -8
The Texans should have won against Indy the first time they met, but this time they are in Indianapolis and the Colts have looked like a new team over the past few weeks.  The Colts get after it at home and beat up on Houston 35-17

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS -5
The Chargers have just one win on the road this year and that was at Miami.  Pittsburgh will be a much more hostile environment.  The Steelers need a win to get back on track and they need it now.  Big Ben and company get the job done 28-20.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS @ TAMPA BAY BUCCANNEERS -3.5
The Vikings are too one-dimensional on offense and Tampa’s defense is too good against the run (yes, even against Adrian Peterson).  Bucs win handily 21-7.

DETROIT LIONS @ CAROLINA PANTHERS -14
If you’ve been watching any football, you’ve seen the Lions, right?  It shouldn’t be close.  Panthers 35, Lions 19.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES -9 @ CINCINNATI BENGALS
I hate big road favorites in the NFL, but it’s safe to say the Bengals have mailed it in for the 2008 season.  Maybe they’ll end up with a good draft pick out of the whole deal.  Eagles in a laugher 38-23

OAKLAND RAIDERS +10.5 @ MIAMI DOLPHINS
Dolphins grab an easy win at home, but their style of play doesn’t lead to many double-digit victories.  Oakland doesn’t travel well, but they should at least find the endzone once this week.  Dolphins win 17-10, Raiders cover.
