NFL Picks Week 3
Written September 25, 2009 by Rock Henderson
Tennessee Titans @ New York Jets- Jeff Fischer has to be baffled how this team is 0-2. His Titans are in a perfect spot this week. Must win situation against the Jets, who are still riding high after their win over New England. Pick: Tennessee +1
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans- The Texans hit their offensive stride against the Titans. Jacksonville took a step back against Arizona after almost pulling off the upset at Indianapolis. Pick: Texas -3.5
Kansas City Chiefs @ Philadelphia Eagles- Another week with Kevin Kolb running the Eagles. Pass. Chiefs can’t move the ball, but their D could force Philly into a few turnovers that lead to points though. Pick: Kansas City +9
Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens- John Harbaugh has the Ravens playing some of the best football in the league on both sides of the ball. Large number for an NFL game, but Ravens should get there. Pick: Baltimore -13.5
New York Giants @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Short week for the Giants and more traveling involved. Current NFL odds have the Giants as 6.5 point road favorites. Heat could get to New York. Actually like the lowly Bucs in this spot. Pick: Tampa Bay +6.5
Washington Redskins @ Detroit Lions- Jim Zorn might be the only head coach in the league on the hot seat after a 1-1 start. The week has come for the Lions to break the streak! Pick: Detroit +6.5
Green Bay Packers @ St Louis Rams- Packers were embarrassed at home by Cincinnati last week. They are not a happy bunch and expect them to run it up on the Rams. Pick: Green Bay -6.5
San Francisco 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings- 49ers D is sick, but so is Minnesota’s run game. Still believe that San Fran is playing to earn respect. Will be the first time Favre has faced a nasty defense. Pick: San Francisco +6.5
Atlanta Falcons @ New England Patriots- Don’t think New England has the killer instinct it had a couple years ago. Falcons QB Matt Ryan might be the next Tom Brady. Pick: Atlanta +4
Chicago Bears @ Seattle Seahawks: Jay Cutler proved he can manage a game in their Week 2 win against the Steelers. If Seneca Wallace is starting for Seattle, jump all over Da Bears. Pick: Chicago -1
New Orleans Saints @ Buffalo Bills- Who needs a defense when you are putting up almost 47 points per game? Should be a shootout, but the Saints always win those. Pick: New Orleans -6

Miami Dolphins @ San Diego Chargers- Miami dominated the game against Indy and still found a way to lose. Not a good sign. The Chargers are plagued by injuries (Merriman and Tomlinson did not practice most of the week). Pick: Miami +6
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals- Line seems fishy. Bengals are one fluke play away from being 2-0. Seems like every Pittsburgh game has come down to the wire lately. Pick: Cincinnati +4
Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders- Broncos continue to fly under the radar with two wins behind Kyle Orton. Have a real nice shot at going 3-0 in the Black Hole. Never feel safe putting your money on Raiders QB Jamarcus Russell. Pick: Denver -1
Indianapolis Colts @ Arizona Cardinals- Colts scored 27 points last Monday while only having the ball for 14 minutes. Arizona looked like the defending NFC champ against Jacksonville. The Cards play like world beaters at home. Pick: Arizona -2.5
Carolina Panthers @ Dallas Cowboys- Line is inflated here. Carolina is too good to be getting nine on the road against a slightly above average Cowboy team. QB change might be in order for Carolina if Delhomme starts the season 0-3. Pick: Carolina +9
