Week 4 NFL Power Rankings
Written October 9, 2009 by Rock Henderson
.) New York Giants- Concern in New York about the health of quarterback Eli Manning. Probably would be smart if they sat him out against Oakland.
.) Indianapolis Colts- Peyton has the aerial attack clicking. Colts will play in primetime for the third time in five weeks.
.) New Orleans Saints- Impressive win at home against the Jets. The Saints are starting to win with the running game as defenses have keyed on Brees.
.) Minnesota Vikings- Favre showed why the Vikings took a chance on him against Green Bay. Run defense is still stout, secondary is a bit suspect.
.) New York Jets- Sanchez played like a rookie last week against New Orleans. Another tough road test this Sunday at Miami. If you plan to do any NFL betting this season, get doubled up with a $500 match bonus from BetUS.
.) New England Patriots- Brady slowly making the turn towards 2007 form. His leg injury has caused an up roar about how protected quarterbacks are by referees.
.) Baltimore Ravens- Flacco almost led the Ravens on a 4th quarter comeback before Mark Clayton’s 4th down drop at New England. Key game with Cincinnati Sunday
.) Philadelphia Eagles- Finally healthy with McNabb and Westbrook coming back. Need to stay that way to make a deep run in the playoffs.
.) Denver Broncos- Became a believer with their win against Dallas. The Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton trade not looking so bad at the moment.
.) Atlanta Falcons- Bye week gives Falcons two weeks to prepare for 49ers. Michael Turner needs to get the wheels turning again.
.) San Francisco 49ers- Quietly signed Michael Crabtree and will look for ways to implement him into the offense right away.
.) Cincinnati Bengals- Needed all of overtime to get by the Browns. Just shows that you have to bring it every week in the NFL
.) Green Bay Packers- Rodgers was dropped another 8 times at Minnesota and at this rate there is no way he makes it an entire season.
.) Chicago Bears- Cutler won over Bear fans with is acrobatic touchdown run against Detroit. If he continues to play turnover free ball, they will be a tough out.
.) Pittsburgh Steelers- Run game returned against the Chargers as Mendenhall was impressive. Still having trouble closing out games which is not a good sign.
.) Dallas Cowboys- Might miss TO more than they thought. When they get Jones healthy at RB, will have a three headed monster.
.) San Diego Chargers- General manager is calling out the team in the media saying his defense is “soft.” Not a good sign for the direction of the squad.
.) Jacksonville Jaguars- Garrard has been outstanding at quarterback. MJD is running the ball with authority and proving that he deserves to be a #1 back.
.) Houston Texans- Need to be more consistent if they are going to build on their 8-8 record in 2008. Can’t keep trading wins and losses.
.) Arizona Cardinals- Offensive line was dominated up front by the Colts. The Cardinal offense should be able to have more success against the Texans
Rest of the Bunch:
.) Miami Dolphins
.) Seattle Seahawks
.) Washington Redskins
.) Buffalo Bills
.) Carolina Panthers
.) Tennessee Titans
.) Detroit Lions
.) Cleveland Browns
.) Oakland Raiders
.) Kansas City Chiefs
.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
.) St Louis Rams
