NFL Score Predictions Week 6

Written October 16, 2009 by Kyle Hunter

The New York Giants head to the Big Easy to take on New Orleans in a battle of unbeaten teams. The Giants and the Saints have nearly identical offensive numbers as far as yardage, but the Giants have an edge on the defensive side of the ball. The Saints defense is much improved from a year ago, but I think the Giants continue their winning ways on the road. Prediction: Giants 28 Saints 24

The winless Chiefs will visit Washington, another team that has come under a lot of scrutiny this season. I wouldn’t expect this to be a pretty game to watch at all. This should be a low scoring punting exhibition with two offenses that are inept.  According to the NFL odds, the Skins are favored by 6 points. Prediction: Washington 17 Kansas City 10

The Panthers finally got a victory last weekend, but Tampa Bay has yet to win a game. The Tampa Bay offense has nothing going for it, and the team is in disarray. The Panthers should be able to run the ball. Prediction: Panthers 24 Tampa Bay 17

The Browns and Steelers are heated rivals, but very few people expect this weekend’s matchup to be very tightly contested. I tend to agree with that sentiment. The Browns did pickup a win last weekend, but they’ll find it much more difficult against Pittsburgh. Prediction: Pittsburgh 28 Cleveland 14

The Baltimore Ravens will face the unbeaten Vikings in what should be a very interesting game. The Ravens have the personnel to make a deep run this year, and I believe this could be the game where they step up and surprise some people. Prediction: Ravens 24 Vikings 21

The Rams head to Jacksonville to take on the Jags this weekend. Mark Bulger will be back at quarterback for the Rams, but the team will still be terrible. The Rams are averaging less than 7 points a game! Prediction: Jaguars 27 Rams 10

The Lions will play at Lambeau field this weekend against the Packers. The Packers have been inconsistent this year, but they do have the ability to be a solid team. I expect them to move the ball at will in this game. Prediction: Packers 31 Lions 17

Houston will travel to face the AFC North leading Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals need to be careful not to get into letdown mode after such a huge victory last weekend. If it’s a Bengals game, it will probably go down to the wire. Prediction: Bengals 24 Texans 21

The Cardinals and Seahawks will matchup in an important divisional battle this Sunday. The Arizona defense is being torched through the air this year, so if Hasselbeck is healthy it could be trouble for the Cards. Expect several points in this one. Prediction: Seattle 31 Arizona 24

The Oakland Raiders get the distinction as the worst team in the NFL so far this year. Can they win against the Eagles at home this weekend? That seems very unlikely. The Eagles will throw the ball with plenty of success and stop up the inept offense of the Raiders. Prediction: Eagles 31 Raiders 10

The Buffalo Bills started the season with some promise, but they have turned south in a hurry. The Jets are still 3-2, but they need a win to get back on track. Sanchez and the Jets should be able to control this game. Prediction: Jets 28 Bills 17

Shockingly the Titans are winless through five games this season after being unbeaten last year at this time. They will have a very tough test at New England this week. New England should be able to kick this team when they are down. Prediction: New England 31 Tennessee 13

A matchup of 3-1 teams this Sunday night as Chicago invades Atlanta. This should be an entertaining game. Keep an eye on both rushing attacks, because whichever team is able to run the ball effectively should win this one. Prediction: Falcons 24 Bears 21

The Broncos are still unbeaten, but they face another very tough test at San Diego this weekend. I still think the Broncos run comes to a screeching halt one of these weeks. San Diego has too much offensive firepower for Denver to keep up with in this one. Prediction: Chargers 27 Broncos 17
