NFL Week 8 Picks

The Baltimore Ravens are in a vital spot to pick up a win against a very good team this Sunday at home against Denver. They came storming back against the then undefeated Minnesota Vikings only to lose by two points and had two weeks to prepare for this game. Denver has proved it can win on the road against good teams, but they are running into a desperate team here that is very good. Play: Ravens -3
Brett Favre’s return to Green Bay will be full of mixed emotions from Packer fans. Minnesota already has one win against their beloved Packers and a second would make it an uphill climb for Green Bay to win the division. Aaron Rodgers has played at a very high level since the loss to Minnesota and was not sacked in a game for the first time this season at Cleveland. Maybe the Packers have corrected their offensive line woes? Play: Green Bay -3
Alex Smith has retained the starting quarterback position for the time being in San Francisco after a three touchdown performance in the second half of last week’s game. If he wants to keep the job I would recommend watching opposing QB Peyton Manning go to work. The 49ers are too good to be double digit dogs in this one and must get RB Frank Gore off to a good start. Our current NFL odds show the Colts as 12 point home favorites. Play: 49ers +12
The Jets and the Dolphins will hook up for the second time in less than a month. The Dolphins took game one behind their Wildcat attack, but don’t except the Jets D to get gauged by the unique running style of Miami this time around. Rookie QB Mark Sanchez has to continue to cut down on the turnovers and New York will be just fine the rest of the season. Play: Jets -3
All the sudden the New York Giants have looked vulnerable in their last two games and now they are faced with the tough task of traveling to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. Both teams have two losses and things always get physical in this match-up. The Giants don’t lose three games in a row. You can get them at a pick em’ so get all over that. Play: Giants +1

New Orleans is starting to get a lot of love by odds makers when you make them a 10 point favorite at home against a good Atlanta team. The Falcons laid an egg in Dallas last Sunday and know what they are up against with division foe New Orleans waiting on them. Someone has to figure out the Saints attack eventually. Who better than a team that plays them twice a year and knows quite a bit about what they want to do. Play: Atlanta +10
Carolina at Arizona would have a nice match-up last year, but oh how the mighty have fallen when it comes to the Carolina Panthers. Arizona is starting to look like the defending NFC champion as the running game is aiding their always potent pass attack. The emergence of rookie RB Beanie Wells will really help this team out in the long term. Carolina has been dismal on the road. Play: Arizona -10
