Northwestern v. Indiana Football Picks & Predictions

Northwestern has been one the nation’s biggest surprises as they enter this game with Indiana with a 6-1 record. Indiana is arguably the worst team in the Big Ten. They have lost five straight games and are winless in conference. The college football lines makers seem to agree with us that Northwestern will be ahead in this one from the beginning. BetUS has the Wildcats listed as 8-point favorites over Indiana with a total set at 50.5.

Northwestern has a very efficient and balanced offense that can put up big points, as they average nearly 30 points per game. Northwestern will face a horrible Indiana defense. Indiana has allowed over 40 points in three of their four conference games.

Northwestern’s balanced attack is led by quarterback C.J. Bacher. Bacher has thrown seven touchdown passes in just three Big Ten games. On the year Bacher has thrown touchdown passes to seven different players and four players have 27 or more receptions. There is no doubt Bacher will spread the ball around against this Hoosier defense.

The Indiana defense is allowing over 160 rushing yards per game. Running back Tyrell Sutton is going to have a huge game in this one. Sutton is a dual-threat guy. He is third on the Northwestern team in receptions and has found the end zone twice by way of reception. He has also rushed for six scores. Sutton will be the difference in this one.

Northwestern brings a solid defense into this game as well. In their six wins Northwestern is only allowing 14.6 points per game. Indiana has been held below 14 points in their last three games. For our free football picks this week we look for Northwestern to flat out dominate this game.
