Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Clippers

The Denver Nuggets will go for their fifth straight victory tonight when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staple Center. Denver beat the Rockets 113-106 at home on Monday, thanks to 33 points and 11 rebounds from Carmelo Anthony. The Clippers on the other hand lost 107-98 at home against the Hawks, despite 31 points and 15 rebounds from Blake Griffin. Denver leads the season series 2-0, but this is the first game at Los Angeles. Our spreads for this game have the Nuggets favored by just 3-points over the Clippers.
Anthony really struggled in his first game back against the Kings on Saturday, scoring just 16 points on 6 of 22 shooting. Anthony didn’t exactly have a great shooting night against the Rockets, making just 10 of 25, but he was 13 of 14 from the free throw line.
Expect another big night from Anthony against the Clippers, in the two games against Los Angeles this season, Anthony is averaging 28 points, five assists, and five rebounds.
Against the Rockets, six different player scored in double-figures, and with the way the Clippers are playing they are going to need more than than just Anthony to win on the road.
There is no question that the Clippers are playing their best basketball of the season right now. Los Angeles is 5-3 in their last eight games, and all three of the losses were by less than 10 points.
Griffin has been unbelievable lately, averaging 27.4 points and 14.2 rebounds over his last five games, and has scored 30 or more in two straight. On top of that Griffin has recorded a double-double in 21 straight games, hard to believe that this is his first season playing in the NBA.
Eric Gordon had just 10 points in the Clippers most recent loss to the Hawks, but he has been a great compliment to Griffin on the outside. Gordon is averaging 22.5 against the Nuggets this season, and if he gets it going tonight, the Clippers will have a great shot at winning this game.
I think this is a good time to take the points and bet the Clippers at home. The Clippers have seen the Nuggets twice already this season, and they played them tough on the road in both games. This will be just the second game for the Clippers over the last week, and I think their fresh legs will allow them to keep it close and possibly pull out the win tonight.
Got something to say?
